What do I need to bring on voting day?Bring two pieces of ID to prove residency and identity (at least one with a signature). If you are not on the List of Electors, you can register at the time of voting.

Who is eligible to vote?To be eligible to vote you must meet the following qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older; and

• Canadian citizen; and

• Resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately preceding voting day; and

• Resident of OR registered owner of real property in the City of New Westminster at least 30 days immediately preceding voting day; and

• Not otherwise disqualified by law from voting.

You do not need to own property to vote.

• British Columbia Driver’s Licence

• British Columbia Identification Card

• British Columbia Services Card (photo or non-photo)

• ICBC Vehicle Insurance Certificate

• British Columbia CareCard

• A Ministry of Social Development and Economic Security Request for Continued Assistance Form SDES8

• Citizenship Card issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada

• A Social Insurance Number card or confirmation of Social Insurance Number letter issued by the government of Canada

• A real property tax notice issued under section 369 of the Local Government Act

• A credit card or debit card issued by a savings institution as defined in section 29 of the Interpretation Act

• Utility bill (electricity, natural gas, water, telephone services or cable services)
