“We give thanks to God always for all of you, remembering you in our prayers, unceasingly calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ …” 1 Thes 1, 2

It is a wonderful thanksgiving prayer that concentrates on the beauty of faith. St. Paul with a great and thankful heart encourages Thessalonians in a very positive way. By prayers to God he sees them in an act of faithfulness. In other words, he praises the Lord for the work of stewardship that happens among the members of a local church.

With the same spirit, we should be thankful for our gift of faith. We should be thankful to God for every small blessing that enriches us in relationship with Him. The husband lives in the spirit of thanksgiving for the gift of wife and vice versa. The children should be thankful for their parents and the parents for the gift of children. Our gathering for Sunday Mass is a Thanksgiving (Eucharistia).

Do we live in the spirit of being thankful? How many times a day do you call to God with thankful heart?

What’s Happening at Our Parish... Are you a mom of grown children?

We need you!

It’s hard to believe it is Fall, and Winter is just around the cor-ner! Just as we have the changing of seasons in our environment, we also have seasons in our lives. In Spring, we are newlyweds and young parents. In Summer, we have school-aged kids and college kids. In Fall, we become empty-nesters and grandpar-ents. In Winter, we once again are grandparents and maybe even great-grandparents. Can you remember your season of Spring? All the questions and doubts you may have had and the advice you received from those who were in their season of Summer or Fall.

Do you like little kids, sharing life experiences, and keeping in touch with today’s parenting style and challenges? Become a

mentor mom! We are looking for at least 2-3 mentor moms to complete our Mentor Moms team! Learn how parenting has changed and share your wisdom, humor, laughter, tears, faith and encouragement. The PaxMoms MOPS group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 9:30-11:30am. MomsNext meets the 4th Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm. Come be a disciple for Christ. For further information, contact Caroline Fugler at [email protected].

Sunday Mass has three scripture readings plus a psalm. Are you able to determine the connection each week?

On Friday morning after Mass a group of us meets to discuss the readings and gain insight into how they connect. We would welcome more attendees. Look for us in the Great Hall. We have extra copies of the readings for your use. If you can't come each Friday, come as often as you can.

The Catholic Legacy Society was created to honor our legacy donors who have named their parish, Catholic school or a ministry of the Diocese of Colorado Springs as a beneficiary in their will or trust, retirement account, charitable gift annuity or charitable trust, life insurance policy, or through the establishment of an endowed fund.

The Diocese is grateful to acknowl-edge these special benefactors during their lifetimes. And, in conjunction with our mission, this special society provides an opportunity for benefac-tors to make their philanthropy a perpetual legacy for themselves and an example for their families. It also creates an infrastructure of support that makes our parishes, schools and ministries stronger, sustainable and better equipped to reach future generations.

If you have named your parish, a Catholic school or a ministry of the Diocese of Colorado Springs in your estate plan, or are considering doing so, we invite you to become a member of the Catholic Legacy Society.
