Congratulations on your New NEJM ProceduralVideo!
Eric Widera, MD (PALC 612)
Over 5 years ago, our group here at UCSF started on aproject to put communication skills on par with otherprocedural skills learned by health care professionals. Itstarted with the idea that there were many NEJM proceduralvideos but not one on the critical procedure of conducting afamily meeting for those with a serious illness.
Thanks to a lot of hard work from both palliative care docs, including Alex Smith, Kana McKee,Wendy Anderson and myself, as well as Critical Care docs, including James Frank and
Lekshmi Santhosh, we were able today to publish the first NEJM Video in Clinical Medicine onfamily meetings - https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMvcm1913056
