WILLIAMS LAKE CALF SALE, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9th

Williams Lake Stockyards broke all records this week as we had 4000 calves go through our ring

sale and 2 In-House Video sales! It was a day of incredible quality and the buyers were fighting

hard to own these beautiful calves. The Carpenter Mountain Ranch, Roger & Alison

Patenaude, put the excitement to our Wednesday sale with their Video presentation of 3 liner

loads of premium quality calves. Their 1st liner of 95 Angus x s/c, 600 lb, powered up to 208.75.

Their 2nd load of 110 Angus x s/c, at 485 lb, saw 233.00. Their beautiful pen of 115 fancy Angus

x h/c, 460 lb, traded to 201.50. We flew right into our 2nd Video Sale for Roger Williams, Wan-

da Dorsey and Eli & Terra Hatch. Their liner load of 105 s/c, all Angus/Simm x, at 585 lb, raced

to 212.50 and their 2nd load of 120 Angus/Simm x s/c, called to weigh 500 lb, raced to 231.00.

Ian & Mary Robertson put the jam into our ring sale with their pen of 596 lb Simm x s/c that

powered to 212.50 and their solid 648 lb s/c that rolled to 208.00. Next, their 509 lb Simm x h/c

traded to 192.50 and their 555 lb h/c marched up to 193.00. The Pablo Mtn Ranch, Aaron &

Krystal Herrick, set a pace that was stellar from start to finish! 43 hd of their 646 lb Char x s/c

saw 213.00. Their big pen of heavy 713 lb Char x s/c notched 206.25 and their 513 lb Char x s/c

hit 232.50. A liner load of their 604 lb Char h/c, 51 hd, saw 196.25 and the big girls, 677 lb,

reeled in 192.00. Don & Sylvia Fraser’s 500 lb Char x s/c topped 234.00 and their 590 lb s/c

traded to 219.25. Their fancy 506 lb Buckskin h/c hit 210.25 and their 568 lb tan h/c rolled up to

205.75. Rolph Stock Ranch’s 605 lb Simm x s/c sold to 211.00, their 535 lb s/c hit 220.00 and

their 546 lb replacement h/c sold to 206.00. Gardner Ranch showcased a top load of 596 lb

Char x s/c that saw 222.75 and their 677 lb strs sold to 210.75. A load of their 542 lb Char h/c hit

208.50 and their 635 lb h/c notched 224.00. The Rose Ranch saw their 533 lb fancy Blk Angus

s/c roll up to 215.50. The 112 Mile Ranch, Neil & Gail Morrison, had heavy 657 lb Char x s/c

top 211.00. 29 hd of their 583 lb Char s/c notched 221.00. Their 543 lb Char h/c hit 209.25 and

the big sisters, 626 lb Char h/c, grabbed 197.00. Todd Weetman set a pace with a full liner load

of 87 hd of Hereford s/c, fancy and strong, that traded to 216.00. Carmelita Lake Ranch’s 684

lb Char s/c hit 209.75 and their 608 lb s/c sold to 216.35. their 518 lb s/c rolled up to 237.00 and

Bruce Mannering’s 672 lb Simm x s/c sold to 209.75. Wayne Murray had 572 lb s/c reach

210.25. Roger & Sue Taylor showcased a ring full of 758 top Blk Angus s/c that raced to

207.00. Cliff & Alison Schuk set a pace with their solid group of 584 lb Red x s/c that saw

213.50 and their 500 lb Red s/c hit 225.00. On Thursday we saw Mike & Tony Bayliff and

Family in with 100 excellent yearlings. 33 hd of their 777 lb top quality Hereford strs marked

190.25, and the pen of the big boys, 22 hd of 888 lb strs, traded to 187.25. Pincott Ranches

heavy 973 lb open yearling hfrs marked 172.00. Huge thanks to all our buyers, producers and

staff for keeping this fall run smooth and fast!

Huge receipts of cattle here on Friday as we presented over 2500 hd of the best! Let's crank it up with Mountain View Ranch (Van) showing 616 lb s/c worth 210.00, 556 lb s/c at 215.00 and 488 lb s/c climbing to 225.00. Their heifers, scaling in at 546 lb, forced 188.00, 503 lb h/c at 191.50 and 416 lb h/c went all the way up to 203.50. Heath Walton (Smithers) had strong blk s/c at 591 lb mark 208.00 and 544 lb s/c going up to 212.50. Heath's 556 lb h/c edged 185.25 and the 494 lb h/c struck 190.50. We saw Walt Cool's top Saler s/c, 475 lb, run to 219.00, 393 lb s/c raced to 236.00. Walt's heifers at 400 lb brought 196.00, 333 lb h/c reached 236.00. The Blackwell Family saw their 568 lb blk x s/c top 211.75, 477 lb s/c at 225.00, 400 lb s/c carry on to 236.00. Blackwell h/c, weighing 552 lb, soared to 186.25, a pen of 458 lb blk h/c hit 195.00, 369 lb h/c at 220.00. Brian Hall (Van) had 705 lb s/c crack 205.50, 611 lb h/c at 187.50. Hatch Creek Ranch (Topley) was in with 653 lb s/c, maxing out at 205.00, 574 lb s/c at 211.25. Hatch Cr h/c at 573 lb brought 185.75, 493 lb h/c at 189.50. 1523 lb cows from Hatch Cr dropped the hammer at 80.50. Cal Hinton (PG) showed some growthy 659 lb s/c worth 207.50, 552 lb s/c at 212.50, 502 lb h/c settling at 186.00. 1438 lb Hinton cows fetched 83.00. J + R Ranch (Houston) in with massive 697 lb s/c at 205.25, 589 lb s/c shooting to 210.50, 518 lb s/c on to 215.75. J + R h/c, 631 lb, trotted to 183.75, 558 lb h/c at 186.75, 472 lb h/c rocking 195.00. Floyd Jackson (Hixon) had 586 lb Red x s/c march to 213.25, 498 lb s/c at 219.25, 411 lb s/c forced 234.00. 519 lb h/c from Floyd traded at 188.00, 448 lb h/c marked 194.50. Doug and Beth McEntire (Wistaria) in with 576 lb s/c edging 212.50, a ring full of 650 lb tan s/c topping 208.00, 471 lb s/c at 230.00, 516 lb h/c bringing 190.00. 1550 lb McEntire cows hit 84.00. Kochel Cattle and Timber (Van) brought 490 lb s/c that fetched 225.00, the big brothers at 551 lb brought 211.00, 390 lb s/c ran to 240.00! 427 lb Kochel h/c sold at 199.75, 495 lb h/c at 190.00, 341 lb h/c rolled on to 218.00. We had a few yearlings we could look at, like the 848 lb Angus x hfrs from Deer Horn Ranch (Van), that managed 174.00. Clay-ton Steiner (Fraser Lk) saw his 1073 lb strs jump to 167.75, 958 lb strs at 180.00. 1079 lb Steiner hfrs fetched 157.00, 910 lb hfrs at 170.00. We had around 140 butcher stock, like Rog-er and Sue Taylor's 1610 lb blk cows setting the bar at 83.25. Ray Reiter (PG) had 1407 lb cows maxed 82.00. Darlene MacLeod (Van) had an 1870 lb Simm bull worth 102.50. Rose Ranch (Burns Lk) had a 1925 lb Char bull force 107.00. Sharlene Larson (Telkwa) saw her 1940 lb Hereford bull match 107.00. Great sale through and through. Really appreciate the efficiency from top to bottom. Oct. 18th pre-sort is full, Oct. 25th Regular sale is full. Nov. 1st pre-sort is gaining momentum. Excellent job booking in this year, that really helps us organize as well as advertise.

Once again, the Special Calf Sale was a wall of incredible quality calves! We had buyers all the way from Manitoba here to grab these top calves, and the excitement of the sale was electric! Ken & Linda Allison had 865 lb s/c that topped 200.00. Karl & Carson Bischoff in with a top load of calves. Their 730 lb Simm/Red Angus x s/c topped 209.75 and their 589 lb s/c saw

The big boys, 700 lb, hit 209.00. 24 hd of their choice quali-ty 572 lb h/c notched 185.25. Kal Lake Cattle Co. had 607 lb Blk Angus s/c race to 208.00 and their big brothers, 721 lb, set the record at 212.00. The Silver Spur Ranch, Rob & Dean Tren-holm, saw their heavy 765 lb Red & RBF s/c top 205.00, their 659 lb powerful s/c also brought 205.00. their h/c were heavy and good at 667 lb and marked 180.00. Bill & Kelly Jackson saw their 768 lb Red x s/c sell to 205.25 and their 658 lb h/c hit 181.50. Ian & Brenda Jones’ 553 lb Angus x s/c powered to 213.00 and their 421 lb s/c topped 227.50. Copper Creek Ranch’s 600 lb Angus s/c hit 207.50, their load of 539 lb s/c traded to 215.00 and their 521 lb h/c reached 190.25. Ken McDougall saw his 678 lb s/c sell to 208.25 and his 588 lb h/c hit 190.00. Scott McLeod in with 823 lb strs that sold to 188.00 and his top quality 380 lb s/c topped 238.00. The 8 Mile Ranch had 2 complete liner loads of yearlings and calves on offer today. The 1st load of 900 lb Angus strs topped 186.75. Their 1st draft of Red Simm x s/c, 600 lb, traded to 210.00. Their load of 547 lb s/c sold to 215.75 The Calton Cattle Co.’s 574 lb h/c raced to 191.00. Kelly Wallden had 481 lb Angus s/c roll to 225.00 and her 645 lb s/c brought 210.00. Ron Eden saw his 33 hd of Angus x s/c, 463 lb, top their weight range at 226.50. Walter Bopfinger had 620 lb Char x s/c top 211.00 and his solid 809 lb Char s/c powered to 202.00 while his 647 lb Char h/c hit 192.00. Gene Ewalt showcased a load of excellent calves. 24 hd of his 507 lb Angus x s/c raced to 220.00 and the big brothers, just under 800 lb, traded to 202.50. Duut Management saw their ring full of 537 lb Blk s/c reach 214.00 and their 402 lb Blk s/c hit 231.00. It was quite a day! Huge numbers in with almost 1700 hd. Prices were steady and the quality was excellent. Next week, October 22nd, we have another 2000 hd of top calves booked. It’s going to be a huge, electric sale! Many thanks to our buyers, producers and staff for the support and commitment to our industry. The fall run is rolling on smoothly and the caliber of cattle we are seeing is just incredible!
