The girl of the title is Melanie, one of a group of children who have been found to be immune, who goes on the run with a teacher, a soldier and a scientist after their safety is compromised. Newcomer Sennia Nanua heads up a brilliant cast.

Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow engage in a personal and candid discussion with De Palma, touching on his remarkable experiences from his days as the bad boy of New Hollywood to his more recent years as a veteran of the industry.
