CRYSTAL LAKE

RULES AND REGULATIONS

B. RESIDENTS AND GUESTS

8. All residents and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a dignified and neighborly

manner. The volume of all radios, televisions, and sound equipment shall be controlled so as not to cre-

ate a disturbance. Conduct or noise deemed by the Management to be objectionable or a nuisance to

other residents, or which constitutes a breach of the peace, is prohibited.

9. a) Commercial vendors, peddlers, or soliciting agents (including representatives of non-

profit organizations) are not permitted within Crystal Lakes without the specific written authorization of

the Management. All vendors, peddlers, or solicitors shall have proof of such approval. All residents are

urged to notify the Management of any violations.

c) This rule does not apply to, abridge or impair in any manner the rights of the tenants to

canvass and solicit as allowed pursuant to section 723.054 (3) Florida Statutes.

LADIES LUNCHEON

The October ladies' luncheon will be at Red

Lobster on Bruce B. Downs.

Please be at the parking lot no later than

11:15.

Thanks to Joyce Koshiol for taking care of

this for me while I am gone. Her phone num-

ber is 783-8169

For our luncheon at Kokopelli's in December

we will have four menu choices. More about

the choices later. With a party this big this not

unusual.

They are allowing us to have separate checks.

This is a special deal for us. Remember my

"motto" because this is when we will have to

have patience. The rest of the restaurant will

be open and serving other diners.

I have a feeling the gift exchange will help us

to forget how long it is taking to get our bills.

I am trying to give you bits and pieces of what

is going to happen so there are no surprises.

Let's remember that this a very special time

and that we don't know what "tomorrow " will

bring This is a time for us to work together to

make this pleasant for all of us and the restau-

rant.

We are representing "Crystal Lake" and a lot

of times we are asked where we are from.

Judy

NEIGHBORS’ NITE OUT

We need a volunteer host for eating out in October.

Anyone interested please contact Belle @ 780-2886

FYI

There are no trash or recycle pickups on

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and July

4th.

Pick up will be the next regularly scheduled

day.

DO WE NEED A NEW STOVE AT

CRYSTAL LAKE

Since they retired and moved to Florida, they didn’t

know why people had stoves. You know, that thing

in the kitchen that if you turn the knob you can ac-

cidentally burn yourself.

This couple always had eating out, on their mind.

On Monday, they ate at RUBY TUESDAY. On

Wednesday they ate at FRIDAYS

They were from up north. Her father she called

PAPA JOHN and his best friend was named

MARCO. They would go to work together in the

morning on the SUBWAY, usually the ABC line

and they were at work in TWO MINUTES. Most

of their relatives lived up north, MAINLY NEW

ENGLAND. Up north many of his neighbors grew

their own vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, cucum-

bers. One guy had an OLIVE GARDEN that had a

base of rich top soil and BLACKSTONE. He

would jar them and have them all year to munch on.

When someone asked him how the garden was, he

would reply "it's the pits.”

Then they moved to Crystal Lake in Zephyrhills.

She would go to the clubhouse and play CHECK-

ERS or DOMINOES with the ladies while her hus-

band would go golfing hoping to get a HOLE IN

ONE. When he lived up north he was in a band

with his next door neighbor SONNY. The band was

a group of FIVE GUYS. There was no place for

them to practice so they would practice OUT-

BACK. Hoping the weather wasn’t CHILI. They

practiced in the morning around 6 O’CLOCK,

right after SUNRISE. The first song they learned

was Old McDonald had a farm. Then they got into

more modern music. His wife WENDY would

make them coffee. One of them played the PIC-

COLO another the LONGHORN. Which was

really a trombone. The singer of the group sounded

like SERGIO Franchi.

So I think you can understand since they retired,

why they don’t need a stove.

Submitted by Tony Pepe.

HAND STICHED WITH LOVE GROUP

SPECIAL MEETING

Our meeting on Wednesday, October 2nd, should be

very interesting. Hospice has made several changes

over the last few months and due to those changes we

have a new contact person for our group. Our new con-

tact will be attending our October meeting. She will be

speaking to us about the changes and will be giving us

updated info regarding the items that we donate to the

Hospice patients. We have reserved the clubhouse,

from 1:00 to 3:00, for this meeting so we should have a

quiet time while our guest is speaking. We want every-

one that is a member of this group, and our other

Wednesday group, to attend this meeting. We will be

able to get answers to all the questions that we have dis-

cussed in our prior meetings. Please be there for this

update and a fun time for all.

SHORT NOTE OF THANKS

Thank you all, good friends and neighbors, for the

prayers, cards, food and gifts following my recent

surgery and convalescence. I'm now still getting

over the flu and my incision is still painful -- but so

much less than the daily pain I've endured for more

than a decade!

Your caring thoughtfulness have really brightened

my way!

Take time to laugh & remember to wear your name

tag!!!

With hugs,

:-) Judy Short

MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR

We are Myra and Raleigh Harke, originally from the snow belt of Syracuse, NY. We moved to Charlotte

to be near our grown son and daughter-in-law and hopefully future grandchildren. Joining us were our two

adopted special needs children ages two and twelve. The grandchildren we were waiting for are now teen-

agers. The twelve year old special needs child is now grown and trying it on his own in Charlotte and the

youngest one passed away 6 years ago at age 13. After 52 years with a nest always full of kids (either fos-

ter, biological or adopted) we made the decision in May to retire. A long time friendship with Ron and

Doris Short brought us to Zephyrhills and Crystal Lake.

Settling into our new home with our service dog Mattie and becoming acquainted with all of our new

neighbors has kept us busy for the last few months.

We enjoy the amenities in the park, the friendliness of the people, our new church home and a much more

relaxing life style than we had in Charlotte. We are also enjoying all of the wildlife that inhabit our park.

Thank you Crystal Lake folks for your warm welcome.
