Holy Hour Join us for our weekly adoration every Tuesday at 7:30 pm for some one-on-one time with Jesus. Reconciliation is also available. Praise and worship will take place during Holy Hour every even week. Hope to see you there! Liturgy Talk with Fr. Ricky Manalo Join us Monday, October 21st, at 7 pm in the UCC chapel for Fr. Ricky Manalo’s talk, “Do You See What I See?: Liturgy through Traditional, Modern, and Postmodern Perspectives.” This talk discusses three perspectives and approaches to the liturgy that exists in our parishes today. He will explain how these “three world views” continually interact with another, and further, how each could learn from one another. All liturgical ministers must attend. See you tomorrow! Mass of the Holy Spirit Our annual “Mass on the Grass” will not be celebrated this year at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center due to facility renovations. In lieu of this UCC tradition, we will continue with Mass of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, October 27th at the UCC with a special reception following hosted by the St. Martin of Tours Knights of Columbus.
SVdP ([email protected]) SVdP is looking for dedicated and compassionate board members to help organize trips to feed our homeless brothers and sisters in downtown LA this school year. Anyone who is interested please contact Rebecca at [email protected] to help spread God's love! Muối ([email protected]) Join Muối (Salt), an all-inclusive Vietnamese Catholic community based on Ignatian spirituality. We meet Mondays 7pm-9pm in the Community Room, alternating between general meetings and small groups. There will be no meeting on October 21st due to the liturgy talk by Fr. Ricky Manalo. UCCC ([email protected]) Have you been hearing about UCCC 2020, but aren’t sure what it is? Well I’ll let you in on the secret! UCCC 2020 is a Catholic Conference for college students by college students, and it will be hosted at UCLA this year in February! Registration is currently open, so come and enjoy a faith filled, fun 4 day conference! Visit our website cacatholics.org for more information and to register!

We as a FOCUS Team would like to invite you to a party we’re throwing for the annual FOCUS Conference, which will take place this
year from December 30th to January 3rd in Phoenix Arizona. Conferences are a great opportunity to meet other young Catholics across
the country and to see both incredible speakers and receive valuable formation. The party will take place on this Wednesday October
23rd from 6:30PM to 8PM. We will have
free food, music, a raffle, and free gifts
for those who sign up such as T-shirts,
stickers and more. We will also be
available to answer any questions you
may have about the conference at the
party, or if you text or call the number
found on the SLS20 posters throughout
the building. Come join 10,000 other
college age Catholics for the most
memorable New Years yet.

DID YOU KNOW? Know the signs of denial
Denial is a commonly used defense mechanism for abuse victims. Because they want to believe that things will go back to normal, victims often feel trapped into just allowing the situation to play out. Fear of change can be overwhelming, especially if the victim has been manipulated by his or her abuser. Victims may also struggle with accepting what’s happening because they know their abuser closely, as a family member or friend. It’s important to recognize the signs of denial and how to break through those barriers that can keep a victim from true healing. To learn more, get a copy of the VIRTUS® article “The Many Faces of Denial, Part 2,” at http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.
