The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not government officials ... but the voters.” Quick Information: (Provided by the Election Commission) *The Election Commission received a total of seven candidate challenges, all of which were denied through the Election Com- mission, with four of the seven challenges being taken to court resulting in the final candidate listing above. *MUST PRESENT a PHOTO ISSUED TRIBAL ID and/or a PHOTO ISSUED STATE ID to establish identity at Polling Sites to re- ceive ballot. *ABSENTEE BALLOTS will be mailed out Sept. 1, 2017. Approximately 2700 absentee ballots will be mailed out to those with a correct and current address on file. Undeliverable ballots showing not voting in two elections will be removed from the voter listing until a NEW REGISTRATION is filed at the proper time. *Absentee Ballots MUST BE RECEIVED by 3 p.m. at the United State Post Office / El Reno, Okla. ON DAY OF ELECTION or they will be considered a late ballot and will not be counted at any time. *NO PROVISIONAL BALLOTS WILL BE USED IN THIS ELECTION. *Please mark ballot correctly or it will be considered a “spoiled” ballot. *All Candidates will be allowed ONE observer during the ballot counting process. Observers need to be present at 6 p.m. in the Large Conference Room of the Main Tribal Administration Building in Concho, Okla. * The Election Commission will be allowed two (2) observers and the Election Commission Attorney during the ballot counting process. *A Letter of Invitation (to observe and monitor the 2017 Cheyenne & Arapaho Elections) has been sent to the Carter Center by the Election Commission. The Election Commission is awaiting a response from the Carter Center. *TRIBAL CITIZENS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOTE! We currently have 5,588 registered voters.
