the moon has the biggest impact.

What lives in the deep

• Below 100 metres animals there is little or no sunlight and it is very cold. No plants can survive. Many animals live on food that falls down from above. These are some creatures that live in the deep:

• Deep Sea Squid• Deep Sea Prawn• Scaly Dragonfish

• Corals are made of tiny animals called polyps. • Each polyp contains lots of tiny algae. • Corals capture plankton, krill and small fish,

using tentacles.

• Fish use gills to breath under water. Most fish are steamlined and have fins to help them balance and steer.

LIFE CYCLE OF A GREAT WHITE SHARK

• When a great white shark is born it swims away from its mother. Their mother may see them as prey.

• A baby shark is called a pup. At birth the pup is about five feet long, it may reach three times that length when fully grown.

• Many baby sharks do not survive past one year as other great white sharks will eat them.

• Young great white sharks eat fish and rays. As it grows its favorite food is sea mammals such as sea lions and seals. Sharks are fast hunters.

• Most sharks live between twenty and thirty years.

SEA JELLYS

Sea jellies can be found in the ocean , rivers and lakes.Sea jellies can only tell light from dark.They have no bones and are ninety % water.They do not have a brain !!!!They can sting when they are dead.
