DRESSAGE RULES 1. Classes with fewer than 3 entries may be canceled or combined with another class. 2. Entries Close February 24th, 2020 (Dressage & Sport Horse) Post entries at the discretion of management. 3. Ride times will be available Wednesday before the show. 4. Refunds: Same as other divisions of this show. 5. Entry Fees: Please see enclosed entry form. 6. Awards: Trophy and / or gift for first and ribbons to sixth place for each class. Highest test of each level is designated championship class. 7. Hospitality: Concession stand on grounds 8. Riders entering Amateur classes must be in possession of a current USEF Amateur card or apply at the show through the show secretary. 9. Standard 20x60m Dressage ring clay/sand-mix footing. Ample warm up. 10. Dressage division is open to registered Arabians, Half Arabians and Anglo Arabians. 11. Transparent or conservative color raincoat and hat cover allowed in inclement weather. In extreme heat (above 85 degrees) management can allow competitors to show without jacket. 12. Prize money will be paid to the ATR Dressage Championships Training through Fourth Level. See General Rules for payout. 13. The $250 FEI High Score Award will be paid to the highest scoring ATR ride in the FEI classes.

WESTERN DRESSAGE RULES 1) Classes with fewer than 3 entries may be canceled or combined with another class. 2) Entries Close: February 24th, 2020. Post entries at the discretion of management.

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. THE EVENING SESSION! EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULEBOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.
GENERAL RULES 1) ATTIRE: All entries must be suitable attired. Protective headgear per USEF Rules. 2) DISCIPLINE: Cruelty to or the abuse of a horse by any person in this show is forbidden. Excessive use of a
whip on any horse in a stall, runway, schooling area, show ring or elsewhere on the show grounds before or during the show by any person constitutes a violation and renders the offender subject to a penalty.
3) All exhibitors & participants in this show are reminded that good sportsmanship & adherence to all rules are required. Any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the show officials will disqualify the horses from adjudication. Every person who participates is responsible for knowledge of & is subject to AHA & USEF rules. Questions not covered by the rules shall be referred to the Show Committee and their decision is final. Every class offered which is covered by the rules & specifications of the current USEF Rule Book will be conducted & judged in accordance therewith.
4) Management reserves the right to remove a groom, horse, rider, driver, trainer or owner from this show without being liable for compensations or damages. Any offensive or abusive contact with any judge by any exhibitor will be cause for immediate removal from grounds and forfeiture of any winnings.
5) Barn Calls: It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to be at the gate when the class is ready to go in. Every attempt will be made to keep exhibitors advised by the PA system, but no protests will be upheld on the basis of PA announcements. Exhibitors should check in with the Paddock Master prior to class.
6) Two minute rule: Classes will be called promptly. Two minutes will be allowed after the first horse enters the class after which the gate will be closed. If it is impossible to keep from entering in successive classes, please arrange for a tack hold (5 minute max) with the Paddock Master.
7) No person is allowed in the show ring during time of judging except the exhibitors or those having official duties to perform.
8) Vet. Inspection: All horses are subject to physical inspection by the Show Vet as a safeguard against contagious disease. All horses must be serviceably sound, except Equitation Classes. In case of suspected unsoundness, the judge may, if they desire, have the animal inspected by the Show Vet & that decision shall be final. No exhibitor may use another vet’s statement.
9) Grounds Regulations: All horses must have stalls or pay a $25 grounds fee. Please do not ship in before 12 PM Friday, 3/6/20. Early Arrival Fee will be charged to those who ship in before 3/6/20, noon @ $30 per day. Late Departure & Fee: After 3/9/20 @ $30 per day.
10) No paint of any kind to be used on premises, no markings of any kind or disfigurements to the bldgs. Fences, etc. are allowed. No nails to be used on barns.
11) Washing of horses is permitted on asphalt runways or wash racks only. 12) Trailers or vans must be parked in designated areas, no parking is allowed between the barns. No horses in RV lots. 13) All pets to be crated or on leash at all times while at a USEF Recognized event per USEF rules. 14) Show management will assign stalls (tack stalls maybe limited by show management). Stall reservations
may be made by sending the check together with entry blank and paid entries. Requests for stabling together must be made by sending reservations in together. Sorry, no additions to stalls reserved. Any stalls not used will be subject to a 100% cancellation penalty. Stalls have full bar top doors and are 12’x12’.
15) Stalls will have 2 bags of shavings provided with your stall fee, exhibitors may order more shavings via your entry form. Bedding other than shavings i.e.: straw, pelleted bedding etc. will be charged a $30.00 removal fee per stall. Stalls MUST have 2 or more bags of shavings in order to protect the base. Those with less will be taken proper bags & charged for the bags.
16) Regular class awards through 6th place will be given in all classes. 17) Designated ATR classes have been designated for $500 payout. THE $500 ADDED PRIZE MONEY will be awarded to the Champion, Reserve Champion, 3rdand 4th place as follows: $250, $125, $75, $50.
If the Class has less than 4 entries, payout will be as follows: One horse class-payout $50. Two horse class-payout $50, $35. Three horse class payout-$125, $75, $50. The Highest Scoring Arabian and Half Arabian Halter horse will each receive $250. Prize money earned will be mailed to OWNER of horse within 30 days of close of show. A current address must be on entry form and any checks returned will go back to OAHA.
18) AGE SPLIT IN ADDED MONEY CHAMPIONSHIPS: If an age split is bought for a championship, the monies REMAIN with the designated ATR class and will be paid out as listed above.
19) Refund Policy: All fees will be refunded, except for office fees, prior to if received in writing. Refunds after this date will also require a signed vet certificate. Office fees & stall fees will not be refunded after 2/24/20.
20) Substitution of officials: The show committee reserves the right to substitute judges or other officials if those named are unable to officiate.
21) Show Committee reserves the right to refuse the entry of any person without liability or compensation. 22) Amateur cards will be checked, only active Federation members may obtain amateur certification. 23) Any protest must be filed in accordance with USEF Rules. Refer to Chapter 6, Rule GR603, USEF Rule
Book. 24) Drugs & medication: Refer to USEF Chapter 4. Any horse doctored in anyway, artificially,
improperly, unfairly prepared or tampered with before entering the show will be disqualified. 25) Junior Exhibitors: An individual who has not reached their 19th birthday as of Dec. 1st. of the
previous year. 26) Camping on 1st come 1st serve - electric & water only. No trailer parking in RV lot without
electrical hookup. No electrical hookup in barn areas. No tying of horses to RV’s, trailers, fences or trees.
27) Main Ring - 250 x 140, clay/sand mix footing; same for warm-up. 28) Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the
state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
29) Lead-Line safety rules (USEF Subchapter AR-29 Section AR240 #4: (a) Saddle must fit rider, (b) Rider’s feet must be engaged in the stirrups/iron, (c) Leading rein must be attached to a cavesson or a halter placed under or over the Bridle, (d) It is strongly encouraged that the rider wears protective headgear with harness secured which passes or surpasses ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag, & (e) Boots are required.
30) Sharps Disposal: – In accordance with the 1989 Federal Waste Tracking Act, which restricts the disposal of medical waste, bio-hazardous medical waste containers will be provided in the stable area. All exhibitors and their agents are responsible for the proper disposal of this waste. Competition management may fine any individuals including owners, exhibitors, trainers, or their agent up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments.
31) A Current Competition Level Membership is required for all owners, trainers, riders/drivers/handlers or a Single Event Membership must be purchased for a fee of $35 per person. A copy of your AHA membership verification should be included with your entry.

AHA ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION This document waives very important legal rights. Read it carefully before signing. In consideration for AHA permitting me to participate in this Competition, and by signing the entry blank, I agree as follows: I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in this Competition, as a rider, driver, handler, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, junior exhibitor, or as a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor.
