Orientale Concentus wasconceptualised in 2008 withthe purpose of promotingchoral music developmentand cultural exchange inAsia. This international choralfestival has been successfulacross China, Taiwan and
South Korea, and Singapore.
In addition to the choralcompetition and masterclasses which are conductedby renowned adjudicators,the festival programme willincorporate communityprogrammes aimed atraising social awareness,
developing character andcivic mindedness in the youthparticipants. These communityprogrammes comprise ofeducational workshops thatinculcate empathy, team work,

The competition is the mainhighlight of our festival with thelargest prize money awarded. Itis through the competition thatparticipants learn to work together
to achieve a common goal.
IND IVIDUAL MASTER CLASS

During the individual master class,choir members together with thechoir conductor will be able to work
adjudicators during the competition.
MASS MASTER CLASS
-
The mass master class aims toprovide participants with an all-rounded learning experience.
PUBLIC PERFORMANCE
-Choirs will have various opportunitiesto perform in various locationsin Singapore, from educationinstitutions to the various attractionsin Singapore to increase theirexposure to the Singapore audience.
School / Choir Exchange
-
Participating choirs will be given theopportunity to interact with otherchoir from other nations. It is throughsuch sessions that they interact,relate and forge lasting friendships.
PUBLI C concert
for a social cause

The public concert aims at raising
social awareness, developingcharacter and civic mindedness inthe youth participants. Throughthe concert, participants have anopportunity to work and perform
together in the concert forgreater exposure and contributetowards meaningful social causes.
GALA CONCERT / CLOSING
CEREMONY

Each category winner will presenttheir winning choral pieces to the
other participants and visitors atthe grand Prix competition. Partof the tickets proceeds from thisconcert will be channeled to our
Arc Childrens Centre a day carecentre for children with cancer.

SPECIAL JURY AWARDSThe jury may award additional special prizes foroutstanding artistic achievements e.g. Conductors
Prize, Best Interpretation Prize and etc.
SPECIAL PRIZEA special prize will be awarded for the best
performance of a Singapore composition orarrangement.
DELEGATIONSExceptionally outstanding choirs may be delegatedfor the next competition.
*Category winner cash prize will be awarded ONLYwhen there are at least 3 competing choirs in the same
category.
Category WinnersThe choir that is awarded the Gold diploma withthe highest score in a category will be the category
Furthermore, a cash prize will be awarded whenthere are at least 3 competing choirs in the samecategory.
GRAND PRIX WINNERThe jury will nominate the category winners or
top 5 scorers to the Grand Prix competition. The
winner of the Grand Prize Competition will receivethe special Grand Prize Trophy and cash prize ofSGD$10,000.00 .
The Grand Prix competition programme mustcontain 2 a cappella works , one of which is not
sung by the choir in any category competition. Themaximum duration of these 2 pieces is 8 minutes .
The Grand Prix competition will take place duringthe of the festival on Monday 4 thJuly,2016.
