Takayama Village is a member of , "The Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Japan".This association is a nonprofit organization that works with farm and mountain districts which possess splendid scenery and local culture. The association supports such rural districts that work themselves with pride to protect their own local culture and scenery so that these wonderful assets may continue into the future.Takayama Village has been a member since September, 2009.
The national heirloom “Zenkoji Temple” is famous for redeeming all people regardless of persuasion. It was allegedly established 1400 years ago and there are many Japanese as well as foreign visitors.
Kurobe Dam is the largest dam in Japan and was built in 1963 by the Kansai Electric Power Company. It took over 10 million workers 7 years to complete. We recommended riding a cable-car, trolley bus, etc., to thoroughly enjoy the fantastic scenery of the Japan Alps which surround the dam along the “Alpine Route”.
Eating, sightseeing, strolling. Whatever you do in this town, you enjoy it. Obuse is filled with comforting nostalgia.
Go fishing, grass skiing and experiment with traditional manual arts. In winter, visitors come to this area to ski. Many people, young and old alike, visit throughout the year.
Karuizawa is known as one of the greatest resort spots in Japan. Particularly in summer months, many tourists visit here to escape the heat.
This area, designated as a national park, is a treasure house of nature. Tourists visit here one after another during the summer months to take in the scenic nature with its wild plants and animals.
