Introduction To Movie

It is a famous movie of the year 2003. The main story of the movie revolves around the

character named  ROY who is a Con man by profession.

In the movie it appears that Roy is suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Roy faces a lot of difficulties in his life because of OCD as it has effected his professional and personal life.

In the movie we saw that Roy used pills to control his abnormality.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a type

of anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable and unwanted thoughts and repetition of behaviours.

Obsessions People having Obsessions don’t have control over their

thoughts.

CompulsionsPeople having Compulsions show a repetition of their

behaviours.

There are many factors that can cause a person to move towards Obsessive compulsive disorder out of which a few are mentioned

Symptoms of OCD Common Obsessive Thoughts

Fear of being contaminated by germs or dirt. Fear of causing harm to yourself or others. Intrusive violent thoughts and images. Fear of losing or not having things you might need.

Common Compulsive Thoughts Excessive double-checking of things, such as locks Repeatedly checking in on loved ones to make sure

they’re safe. Counting, tapping, repeating certain words, or doing

other senseless things to reduce anxiety. Spending a lot of time washing or cleaning.

Effects of OCD The severity of the problem varies a lot.

Obsessional problems can and do take over lives, making regular employment or family life impossible like

If another disorder is present, the content of the obsessions or compulsions is not restricted to it.

The disturbance is not due to the direct effects of a substance or a general medical condition.
