The construction of objective type test items is difficult. It requires special abilities. , it is time consuming.
Printing cost is greater than essay type test. Both the essay type and objective examinations can
be used to evaluate pupil’s achievement, while using these tests we must remember the limitations of both the types.
As a teacher we must improve reliability and validity of the test.
HOW CAN VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY BE IMPROVED?
Difficult words should be avoided. An item should not provide clues to
the answer. Answer should follow a random
pattern. Avoid ambiguous statements. Quantitative rather than qualitative
words should be used.
