Ensures that the results of the experiment are valid and reliable. b. Results in an experiment must be accountable. i. Accountable- the experiment has an independent variable, dependent variable, controlled extraneous variables, and constants. c. Extraneous variables i. Factors which may impact the effect on the dependent variable 1. Extraneous variables must be limited 2. If present in an uncontrolled manner, the results may not be accurate or repeatable. d.
