Object Markers
Defination
something (such as a sign or an object) that shows something (such as a sign or an object) that shows the location of something or something that shows the presence or existence of something is defined as object markings
Types Of Object Markers
There are 4 types of object markers
 TYPE-1
 TYPE-2
 TYPE-3
 TYPE-4 TYPE-4
Type 1, 2, and 3 object markers are used to markobstructions within or adjacent to the roadway.
Type 4 object markers are used to mark the end of aroadway
TYPE-1
A diamond-shaped sign, atleast 18 inches on a side, consisting of either a yellow(OM1-1) or black (OM1-2)sign with nine yellow retro-reflective devices, each with areflective devices, each with aminimum diameter of 3inches, mounted symmetrical-ly on the sign, or an all-yellow retro-reflective sign(OM1-3).
TYPE-2
either a marker (OM2-1V orOM2-1H) consisting of threeyellow retro-reflective devices, each with a minimum diameterof 3 inches, arranged eitherhorizontally or vertically on ahorizontally or vertically on awhite sign measuring at least 6 x12 inches; or an all-yellowhorizontal or vertical retroreflective sign (OM2-2V orOM2-2H), measuring at least 6 x 12inches.
TYPE-3
A striped marker, 12 x 36 inches, consisting of a vertical rectanglewith alternating black and retro-reflective yellow stripes slopingdownward at an angle of 45downward at an angle of 45degrees toward the side of theobstruction on which traffic is topass. The minimum width of theyellow and black stripes shall be3 inches
TYPE-4
A diamond-shaped sign, at least18 inches on a side, consisting ofeither a red (OM4-1) or black(OM4-2) sign with nine redretro reflective devices, eachretro reflective devices, eachwith a minimum diameter of 3inches, mounted symmetricallyon the sign, or an all-red retro-reflective sign (OM4-3).
Reflector Unit Marking
DEFINATION
A road marking unit comprising a housing with a light-transmitting window, and an electro-optical switch accommodatedin the housing, which switch in an activated state reflects lightentering from the window back towards the window, and in adeactivated state absorbs light entering from the window.
The importance of Reflective Road Safety Products cannot be The importance of Reflective Road Safety Products cannot beoveremphasized in these days of heavy vehicular traffic, innumerable arterial roads and job pressure where people are ina mad rush to reach their workplace/destination in the shortestpossible time. Traffic Police all over India who have used ourroad safety reflective products have claimed that the accident atsharp end and curving roads have reduced by huge margins
These are made out of quality ceramic, plastic and metal and come invariety of shapes and sizes. These are widely used in sharp curvedroads, busy traffic intersections, coastal areas, as airport guidancelights, hilly areas, foggy weather and fly-overs. It provides clear andvisible traffic guidance in all weather conditions. These road studsautomaticallyflash at the time of badweatheror dusk. Thesearealsoautomaticallyflash at the time of badweatheror dusk. Thesearealsoknown as cat's eye. The device's reflective surface enablesthe device tobe clearly visible at long distances at night and in rainy weather.
These markers are fitted with reflective lenses of some kind. Because of their inconspicuousness during the day, they are always used in conjunction with painted retro-reflective lines, they are never seen on their own.
Different installation methods:
 BUTYL PAD INSTALLATION
 TWO PART EPOXY INSTALLATION
 BITUMINOUS ADHESIVE BITUMINOUS ADHESIVE
BUTYL PAD INSTALLATION
This method is the most common method of installation.Butyl padsaresold as individual precut squares, commonly in 4”x4” or 8”x8” sizes. The butyl pads are composed of a double sided adhesion compound, which involves a simple peel and stick theory of installation. It is notrecommended to install Plastic Pavement Markers to a wet or dampsurface. For bestresultsinstall to a cleanand dry area. Butyl Pads=surface. For bestresultsinstall to a cleanand dry area. Butyl Pads=$1.20/each
TWO PART EPOXY INSTALLATION
This method consists of 2 partepoxy kitsA & B. Each 1 qt containershould install approximately 25 four inch Pavement Markersand the 1gal container should install approximately 75-100 four inch PavementMarkers. It is recommended that you follow the instructionsforinstallation as detailed by the manufacturer as noted on theepoxy kits.Epoxy= $0.93/eachEpoxy= $0.93/each
BITUMINOUS ADHESIVE
This method is also referred to as QwikDots. This method is the mostcost efficient form of installation when installing 4” Plastic PavementMarkers in excess of 230 pieces. This material is available in 4” widthsin one continuous 150’ piece. Much like the butyl pads this isa doublesided adhesion compound; however this method of application wouldinvolve cuttingeachpieceto thedesiredsize. Bituminous= $0.51/eachinvolve cuttingeachpieceto thedesiredsize. Bituminous= $0.51/eachwhen installing 450 pieces.
