Tom helped establish the basic infrastructure that became IOTA, writing

prediction software, and analyzing and publicizing occultation results that broughtour occultation work “official” recognition. He helped my occultation work, and me personally, in many important ways.

While he lived in Richmond,VA during the late 1970’s and 1980’s, he led severalexpeditions for grazingoccultations that other DC-area observers and I oftenjoined. As director of Mt. Cuba Observatory, hehelped IOTA with ourmeeting there in October2006.
