Information on first WHS football game on Friday

We are excited about another great football season. We believe that attending the football games on Friday night is a great family activity. We look forward to entertaining everyone while keeping them safe in our venues. To do this, we need for all elementary students to be accompanied by and to sit with an adult in the bleachers at all times. We believe that this is a great environment for the family and a time for all of you to have a great night of fun together. We require that whoever is accompanying these students to the game, supervise and monitor their behavior at all times. We do not allow any footballs or other items to throw in the Stadium. These items will be confiscated for the evening, so please do not bring them to our events. We are responsible for maintaining or-der at our events, but the parent or accompanying adult is expected to be responsible for their child at all times. You should not “drop off” your child at our events unaccompanied for obvious safety concerns. They are at an age where family supervision is required. Let’s have a great year! PE ZONE

PE ZONE This week in P.E. students set SMART goals. (Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Timely) They set a goal of how many popsicle sticks they could collect in 3 minutes by running laps around the gym. This was a great way to motivate the students and talk about goal setting. We also played tag games that involved matching colors and sticks. Lastly, we focused on our push ups, jumping jacks, sit ups and stretching. Ask your child to show you what they can do! Have a FITastic weekend.

FROM THE LIBRARY:

Another GREAT week in the library! We have been focusing on how to take care of our library books in Kindergarten and 1st grade! Be sure to ask your kiddos about Mrs. Lane's "sad" li-brary books that they were shown! Our 2nd and 3rd graders have been learning more about all of the different "neighborhoods" in our own Oak Trace Library! This will be very important to know as they begin using our online catalog, Destiny, in a few weeks! See if your 2nd or 3rd grader can name some of our "neighborhoods"! And, our 4th graders are review-ing different genres that are in our library! Whew...it's been a busy, but FUN, week! Happy Reading! Mrs. Lane
