Thank you to Lucy Johnson and Pat Arrendell for chairing the 2019 Members OnlyLuncheon that took place on Wednesday, May 15. Along with committee members DotHuebener, Sheila Savka, Marilyn Hammond and Nancy Herndon-Ulrich, they workeddiligently to put together a fun and successful event, doing everything from takingreservations and selecting the menu to making table decorations and arranging forentertainment. And speaking of entertainment, attendees were delighted with an after-lunch visit fromnone other than Mary Todd Lincoln. Retired high school history teacher Barbara Kayportrays 15 different women from various historical eras - all in period dress and guaranteedto make history come alive. Luncheon guests learned many fascinating details about thesomewhat tragic life of the often misunderstood First Lady. We’ve always enjoyed Barbara’sportrayals of history’s fascinating and formidable females, and we hope she’ll return toOakland soon.
