Congratulations to our lovely carer Shireen ,who got married in September, the whole home had a wedding shower for her, with gifts and a wedding book we all signed, with messages for the happy couple, Welcome back Mrs Hughes!

Employee of The Month Special awards were given to our Activity Coordinators, Alison Jones & Heather Lowndes, who have both worked for Barchester for over 10 years each, Resident John and Home Manager Carol presented them both with a bouquet, vouchers and special gold Barchester leaf pins

Art Class The Art classes are proving very popular, On the first Monday morning of every month We have a community art class for families, friends and carers, here and in our area. And on a Tuesday afternoon we have a residents Art class Come and join Alison & Diego for some creative therapy

Garden news Many thanks to our volunteer gardeners, Mary and Chris, without whom, the sensory garden would not have looked so colourful this year, the Zinnias, marigolds, verbenas, pinks , and cosmos, are all still beautiful, into October, and have been much admired! The new winter pansies around the summer house look lovely too!

A big thank you! for all your delicious homemade cake donations, and for supporting our worlds biggest coffee morning, for Macmillan Cancer Charity. We raised £60.60 And we all had a lovely morning! The Oak Grange Choir also performed for everyone

The Barchester Care Awards & Barchester in Bloom

A great day for Team Barchy

The Barchester Care Awards, including the garden categories (Barchester in Bloom), is an annual event that showcases the very best that Barchester has to offer. The Care Awards celebrates the fantastic individuals who work and volunteer in Barchester care homes across the UK; and Barchester in Bloom recognises the beautiful outdoor spaces tended by residents and staff members. Our Divisional Winners have already been named, and the award ceremony will be held in Manchester on October 11th, when the National Winners will be announced. Good luck to all our Divisional Winners and thank you to everyone who took the time to make a nomination.

A huge congratulations to the Barchester staff members who completed the London 10k in scorching heat this summer. The atmosphere in Central London was fantastic, with Westminster shut down to traffic and transformed into a moving street party of thousands of people running, cheering and laughing. The runners were also extremely busy fundraising ahead of the big day, smashing their target and raising an absolutely fantastic £2,119 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, plus gift aid.
