NDA- Introduction

National Defence Academy Entrance Exam is a well-known examination which gets filled by 12th pass out

candidates. Candidates who want to make their career in Indian defence forces and then this examination is the

best option and the greatest opportunity for them. NDA examination gets twice a year by the UPSC, the Union

Public Service Commission. First examination gets conducted in April (NDA I) and other one in September (NDA II)

Complete syllabus of class XI and XII is covered. Generally speaking, there will be more emphasis on class XI as per

NON- MEDICAL STUDENTS HAVE MORE ADVANTAGE TO CRACK…… NDA WRITTEN EXAMS

Candidates with physics and mathematics subjects are preferred for NDA. If a candidate aspires

to be an army officer from early age, he should start working hard from class X to make sure

that he can opt for non-medical steam in higher classes. However, students from humanity

background should not get disheartened as they can also appear in the National Defence

Academy examination. The humanity students will have to work harder so that they can

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

(i) The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum Marks

General Ability Test Comprise the following:

English (Maximum Marks 200)

(I) General Knowledge has six sections with the break-up of 400 marks as below :

1. Section for Physics : 100 marks

2. Section for Chemistry : 60 marks

3. Section for General Science : 40 marks

4. Section for Social Studies : 80 marks.

5. Section for Geography : 80 marks.

6. Section for Current Events : 40 marks.

(ii) The papers in all the subjects will consist of Objective type Questions only. The

Question paper ( Test booklets) of Mathematics and Part ” B ” of General Ability Test

will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as in English.

(iii) In the Question papers, wherever necessary, Questions involving the metric system of

weights & Measures will only be set.

(iv) Candidate must write the paper in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be

allowed to help of a scribe to write answer for them.

(v) The commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at

the examination.

(vi) The candidates are not permitted to use calculator or mathematical or logarithmic

table for answering Objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not therefore

bring the same inside the examination hall.
