Overview Charlene O’ Connor trades as O’ Connor Consulting. Charlene’s current career status is that of Micro
Enterprise Owner, in which she works as an Independent Contractor and Consultant in the field of
Organisational Learning and Development, HR Strategy and Compliance. She has a qualification in
Advanced Human Resource Management with UNISA and boasts 19 years experience in her field.
Her career started in the mid ninety’s with TGI Fridays as City Trainer and very soon she started
training for the group internationally. She decided to broaden her skill-set and joined the Nando’s
Group as Training Coordinator and was responsible for the largest region in South Africa in this
capacity. In joining Hilton International as Training Manager of the Hilton Hotel Sandton, Charlene
quickly excelled as a leadership and management tutor. She tutored programmes in South Africa and
Europe. She again sought a new challenge and chose to diversify into the financial sector working for
African Bank and later on TransUnion Africa.
Charlene has strong business acumen and is a true business partner. She takes time to understand
your business and is agile in her approach. Her style is pragmatic and she is very good at connecting
with people at various levels in the organisation. Her skills range from expert facilitator and coach, to
instructional designer. Her ability to not only coach effectively but also to provide sound counselling
in the coaching process makes her popular as a business and management coach. Charlene provides
an end-to-end solution from consulting, instructional design to facilitation and coaching.
When asked what her business goals are Charlene responds: “ I endeavour to add value and
contribute to an organisations’ success with the knowledge and skills that I have acquired over the
past 19 years through my academic studies and robust corporate work experience. I am passionate,
energetic and pragmatic in my work ethic. For me it's about making a real difference for the individual
and the organisation.”
