DU’AA /
KALIMAH

WHY DO WE NEED TO MAKE DU’AA?
Our Blessed Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has said, “The action most liked by
Allah جل جلاله is du’aa”
When we make du’aa we are thanking Allah جل جلاله for everything he
has given us.
When we make du’aa we should ask for what is good for us, our
families and the whole of mankind.
We should ask Allah جل جلاله to give us good health so that we can pray
to him
He provides us
with good food
and clothes.
He has given us a
loving family, and
friends.
We should ask Allah جل جلاله to guide us on the Straight Path
In our du’aa we should remember all the people alive and dead,
especially the Muslims who are suffering around the world.
He provides us
with a good home
and lots of toys.
The Path of the Prophets, the Sahaba and the Friends of Allah جل جلاله
We should ask Allah جل جلاله to Protect Us from Shaytaan.
5
Ta’awwuth is to seek Allah’s protection from Shaytaan the
accursed one.
جیم من الشیطن الر اعوذ باللہ
A’OOZUBIL-LAAHI MINASH-SHAYTAANIR-RAJEEM
I seek protection in Allah from Shaytaan, the rejected (bad) one
Sayyid Abdul Qaadir Jilaani mentions in Ghuniyatut Taalibeen, the
following benefits of reciting Ta’awwuth:
He gains the proximity and aid of Allah Ta’ala
On the occasion when Shaytaan was expelled from Jannat, he
vowed that he would ensnare and mislead Allah’s servants from
the front, the rear, the right and the left.
Allah Ta’ala took an oath by His Might and Power that He would
instruct His servants to recite Ta’awwuth. When they recite it,
Allah’s hidaayat (guidance) will encircle them and protect them
from the onslaught of Shaytaan.
According to the Hadith, when a person seeks refuge with Allah
Ta’ala, reciting Ta’awwuth with sincerity, Allah Ta’ala grants him
safety for the entire day. Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Close the door of
sins with Isti’aathah (i.e. reciting Ta-‘awwuth), and with Bismillaah
open the door of worship.”
He is saved from the evils of Shaytaan
The Mu’min gains firmness on the Deen
6
WHAT DO WE SAY WHEN WE START SOMETHING
GOOD?
حیم حمن الر الر بسم اللہ
BISMIL-LAAHIR-RAHMAANIR-RAHEEM
Allah, in His name I begin the Most Kind and the Most Merciful
What should we say before we eat or drink?
One who recites ‘Bismillah’ 21 times before falling asleep, Allah جل جلاله
tells the angels to write down a good dead for every breath they
take.
One who recites ‘Bismillah’ 786 times and then blows on water and
drinks it, their memory will improve.
Recite ‘Bismillah’ when closing the door of your house, as Shaytaan
and his Friends will not be able to enter.
What should we say before we wear our clothes and shoes?
What should we say before we start to learn?
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم has said, ’To do something without praying
Bismillah is left incomplete’ so before we do anything we should
always say Bismillah.
REMEMBER YOU CANNOT SAY BISMILLAH BEFORE DOING
ANYTHING WRONG AS THIS IS HARAM
7
THE ISLAMIC GREETING
و بركا ته ا لسلم علـیكم و رحمۃ ا للہ
AS-SALAAM ALAYKUM WA-RAHMATUL LAHI WA-BARAKATOHU
MAY THE PEACE, MERCY AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE WITH YOU
وبركا ته وعلـیكم السلم ورحمۃ ا للہ
WA–ALAYKUMUS-SALAAM WA-RAHMATUL LAHI WA-BARAKATOHU
MAY THE PEACE, MERCY AND BLESSINGS OF ALLAH BE WITH YOU TOO
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said “The person nearest to Allah is the one who is
the first to offer salaam”
When we see anyone whether they are a Muslim or not we should
always be polite and smile at them.
As a Muslim, when we see a Muslim brother or sister we should
always be the first to say AS-SALAAM.
Do you know what to say when we meet one another?
Do we say Hi, Hello or should we say AS-SALAAM?
In reply to AS-SALAAM we should say
8
WHAT DO WE SAY WHEN WE ARE THANKING ALLAH جل جلاله?
One of the best things Allah جل جلاله has given us is the Brain. It
helps us to understand things and know what is good and what
is bad.
Let us try to use our brains and do only good things which Allah جل جلاله
likes, because He has given us so much.
Allah جل جلاله has given us our mummy and daddy, who love us and take care
of us.
The only thing that Allah جل جلاله asks in return is your thankfulness to
Him.
Make it a habit to say “Alhamdulillah” at every good news or at every
good turn in your life.
If someone asks how you are, say “Alhamdulillah”
We should thank Allah جل جلاله because of all the lovely things He has
given us.
Eyes to see with
Ears to hear with
Hands so we can do things
Legs so that we can walk and play
Why should we thank Allah جل جلاله?
9
In seeking to thank Allah جل جلاله, not only do you please Him, but you are
sure to receive success in return – in abundance.
Do not forget, Allah جل جلاله loves those who thank Him جل جلاله.
Be grateful throughout your day.
When you wake up in the morning, when you eat or drink and more so
when you listen to the Holy Quran or Naats and Nasheed, always say
‘Alhamdulillah and ‘Subhanallah’.
As the Quran says, ‘And remember when your Lord proclaimed, “If
you are grateful, I will surely increase you in favour. But if you deny
indeed, my punishment is severe’’

WUDHU (Ablution)
We should try our best to remain in the state of wudhu at all times.
Do not waste water when making wudhu!!!
There are four Faraidh (compulsory acts) in Wudhu
1. To wash whole face from the top of the head to below the chin
and from one earlobe to the other
2. To wash both arms up to the elbow (First the right and then the
left)
3. To pass wet hands over one quarter of the head (Masah)
4. To wash both feet up to the ankles (First the right and then the
left)
Always remember to begin wudhu by praying the Ta’smiyah
حیم حمن الر الر بسم اللہ
Allah جل جلاله, in His name I begin, the Most Kind, the Most Merciful.
Wudhu is a special way of washing certain parts of the body as
shown to us by Our Master Mohammed صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Wudhu cleans and washes away our sins.
Our Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said “The key to Jannah is Salaah, and
the key to Salaah is Purity.”

Ask for His help every

If Allah جل جلاله wants to help us,
then nobody can hurt us.
Allah جل جلاله, also provides us
help through other people.
He helps us by giving us our loving parents,

We should ask for Allah’s جل جلاله help by being truthful, by being good

He helps us by giving us nice clean clothes so we
should thank Him.
He helps us by making us strong.
