AS OF THE IMAGESTATION 14.0 RELEASE, APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER CERTIFIED FOR THE WINDOWS XP OR XP-64 OPERATING SYSTEM. Configuration information related to those operating systems is for legacy versions only.
The following graphics card configurations were certified with ImageStation 6.2.1 and 13.0 using NVIDIA driver 266.45 on Windows XP, Windows XP-64, and Windows 7-64:
1 CRT 2 CRTs Planar 3D Stereo Mirror
Planar 3D Stereo Mirror + 1 mono (CRT or LCD)
Single 3D Stereo LCD
Dual 3D Stereo LCD
3D Stereo LCD + 1 mono LCD
Quadro FX 4600 X X X X X X
Quadro FX 4700 X2 X X X X2 X X X
Quadro FX 4800, Quadro 5000, 6000
X X X3 X
1 X
Quadro FX 5800 X X X X X X
1 Windows 7-64 only. Requires DisplayPort to DVI-D dual link adaptor cable.
2 Windows XP32/64 only.
3 Quadro FX 4800 and Quadro 5/6000 cards corrupt the display when exiting any orientations
(IO, RO, AO, Multiphoto) while running in the Windows XP32/64 environment with only one stereo LCD monitor in use. The user must exit the application to clear the graphics. The problem does not occur if running Windows 7-64, or if running Windows XP32/64 with a second monitor attached.
The following graphics card configurations were certified with ImageStation 13.0 and 14.0 using NVIDIA driver 310.90 on Windows 7-64. Note that these are "K" series (Kepler) Nvidia cards.
Single 3D Stereo LCD
Dual 3D Stereo LCD
Single 3D Stereo LCD + 1 mono LCD
Dual 3D Stereo LCD + 1 mono LCD
Quadro K5000, K60002 X X X X
Quadro K2000, K4000 X X1 X
1 Requires DisplayPort to DVI-D dual link adaptor cable.
2 Requires driver version 320.78. Follow same instructions as outlined for driver 310.90.
These cards do not have a 3-pin DIN connector for a stereo emitter and therefore will not support stereo with CRT monitors.

6 Nvidia Driver Configuration Instructions
Windows 8-64 users should use driver 320.00 or higher and follow the same instructions as outlined for driver 310.90. As of this writing it is not possible to disable Desktop Windows Manager in Windows 8, therefore stereo cannot be supported in the Windows 8 environment at this time.

A separate hardware driver is required for use of 3D Vision Stereo LCD displays for stereo viewing.
Installing the NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver
1. Remove any previous 3D Vision drivers, if present, and reboot the system.
2. Install the NVIDIA graphics card driver.
3. Reboot.
4. Plug the 3D Vision stereo emitter into one of the system’s USB ports. If a 3 pin mini-din stereo cable came with your 3D Vision kit, plug it into the stereo connector on your NVIDIA graphics card.
5. Install the NVIDIA 3D Vision USB Stereo driver. Select the option to copy the files to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA StereoUSB Driver.
If you are installing driver version 310.90 this step is not necessary as the Stereo USB driver is automatically installed with the video driver.
6. Reboot.
7. Configure the driver as described in the next section.
When the installation is finished and the driver is configured, the light on the emitter will glow dull green. When a stereo application is started, the emitter will glow bright green.

Setting Up the Planar 3D Stereo Mirror Display Hardware
The Planar 3D Stereo Mirror display system uses an add-in mirror card to accomplish 3D stereo viewing. The In connector on the mirror card must be connected the graphics card. The Out connector on the mirror card must be connected to the upper Planar monitor.
The following sections show you how to connect the cables for the NVIDIA cards that were certified with the Planar display system.
Please note that the cards in the photos might appear "upside down" compared to your own system. Use the 3-pin DIN stereo connector on the back of your card as a point of reference to determine which way your cards are installed.

As of this writing it is not possible to disable Desktop Windows Manager in Windows 8, therefore stereo cannot be supported in the Windows 8 environment at this time.
Stereo views must not span monitors. Stretching a stereo view across two monitors will disable hardware acceleration on the graphics card, severely impacting roam performance.
View windows must not overlap each other, as this can significantly affect the "smoothness" of the roaming.
Do not allow dialog boxes or menus to overlap any views while roaming, as this can also affect roaming.
Positioning the ISFC Active Feature dialog over the master stereo view does not seem to affect roam performance. Other dialogs do affect performance, even when they are obscured by the master window while roaming is active.
Windows 7 Considerations
To achieve the best performance when running stereo applications on Windows 7, you must disable both desktop composition and Aero.
To disable desktop composition:
1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click View >> Small Icons.
3. Click Performance Information and Tools.
4. Click Adjust visual effects.
5. On the Visual Effects tab activate the Adjust for best performance option.
6. Click OK.
To disable Aero:
1. Right click on the desktop and select Personalize.
2. Click on any one of the "Basic and High Contrast Themes."
The first time stereo is activated after logging in, any stereo application that spans two monitors will be truncated to the primary monitor. Consequently, window layouts must be reconfigured.
This issue can be avoided by displaying any image with Rasview (from ImageStation Raster Utilities) to trigger the stereo initialization after logging in. To enable this trigger in Rasview, each user must create a registry entry by executing the text below in a registry batch file (ex: filename.reg):
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intergraph\ImageDisplayerLT]
"AllowStereoHw"=dword:00000001

Stereo views in ImageStation Stereo Display cannot be resized or moved. You must disable stereo in these views, configure them as desired, and then re-enable stereo.
The NVIDIA driver control panel has an option for Stereoscopic 3D when installed on Windows 7. This option is not necessary for use with ImageStation applications and should be left disabled.
