Today

Constitution Hall Fort O

The lesson this morning:

Nuts and Bolts of having God’s blessings on our

finances, as well as spiritual blessings.

3

Previously we talked about general principles of

finances in Christian living.

God owns me and my stuff.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteous-

ness and all my needs will be supplied.

Willingly and gladly do all that the Bible teaches.

Be faithful in the lesser things (like money), and

God will bless us with the greater riches.

Money – our attitude toward it and our handling

of it is the best outside indicator of our inside

condition with God.

4

Living life God’s Way always leads us to

greater blessings in this life, and a home in

Heaven when we die.

Nuts and bolts of Scriptural Financial blessing

Rom 12:2 And be not

conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed by

the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is

that good, and acceptable,

and perfect Will of God.We must discard the

world’s view of

finance, and accept

God’s viewpoint.Are you willing?

6

How does God say that we change to become

conformed to His will?

By the renewing of our mind.

We push out the old thoughts and beliefs, as

we fill our minds with the Word of God.

7

This world's view of financial management

More is always better

Keep up with the Jones’ family

Debt is a wonderful thing.

Getting something for nothing is good.

Cutting corners is okay; everybody does it.

If it’s legal, it must be moral!

8

God says, “Work hard, strive for excellence,

manage well, be content, be generous.”

Gen 2:15 NIV The Lord God took the man and put

him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care

of it.

A lot of people think work is a curse;

Hard work is punishment.

No! For work to be frustrating and have so

many hindrances was the curse for man.

9

Gen 3:17-19 ... cursed is the ground for thy sake;

in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and

thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of

thy face shalt thou eat bread , till thou return to the

ground.

Work was a pleasure in the beginning.

Sin made it frustrating.

10

God created man to work, and we will not be

satisfied or fulfilled without productive work to do.

People with nothing productive to do and a lot of time

on their hands -- end up gripey about little things,

Or wallowing in self-pity.

Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.

11

Eccl 3:13 And also that every man should eat and

drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the

gift of God.

Eccl 5:18 NIV Then I realized that it is good and

proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find

satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun

during the few days of life God has given him --

for this is his lot.

To find satisfaction in our work

is the blessing of God.

12

Some people seem to think the Bible teaches God’s

Provision of our needs without work.

God provides work as the means

to have our needs met.

We should not even desire something for nothing.

Eph 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but

rather let him labor, working with his hands the

thing which is good, that he may have to give to

him that needeth.

We not only need to work, but work at a good thing.

13

1 Thessalonians 4 11-12 Make it your ambition to

lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to

work with your hands, just as we told you, so that

your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and

so that you will not be dependent on anybody. NIV

{Command and a Promise}

II Thes 4:10 For even when we were with you, this

we commanded you, that if any would not work,

neither should he eat.

“I love God’s Way of Living Best of All”

I was on the sea of death drifting onward in distress

didn't think I needed Jesus in my soul.

Couldn't bear to lose my pride, thought that I was

satisfied; Praise His Holy Name He found and

saved my soul.

Oh I love -- God's Way of living; I'm so thankful I

accepted when He called.

He has kept me out of jail, He has saved my soul

from hell.

Oh I love God's Way of living best of all.

16

Many times I went in debt for the drink I could not

quit, and old satan urged me on to break the law.

Tore my little home apart broke my dad and

mothers heart, now I love god's way of living best

of all.

Oh I love -- God's Way of living; I'm so thankful I

accepted when He called.

He has kept me out of jail, He has saved my soul

from hell.

Oh I love God's Way of living best of all.

17

Sinners you cannot compare all your worldly riches

here, with one moment of rejoicing in the lord.

For this earth will melt away on that great and

awful day and ten thousand times it's worth is my

reward.

Oh I love -- God's Way of living; I'm so thankful I

accepted when He called.

He has kept me out of jail, He has saved my soul

from hell.

Oh I love God's Way of living best of all.
