The jar will be changed to glass and will be a sleeker looking jar. The label will be be strictly typographic with a strong color scheme. It will be a minimalist approach to the design. Another way of redesign this product is to bring it back to it’s original retro design that was made by Pierre Ferrero when it was called “Supercrema”. This retro design will be revamped to fit the modern Nutella but it will still be a homage to it’s original design. Redesign Plan

Product Name: Nutella

Target Group: Familes and adults between 18-50

Brief History:

Nutella is a hazelnut chocolate spread that is made and sold by Italian manufacture, Ferrero. It was first put into stores in 1964. Pierre Ferrero was the one who made the recipe for Nutella in 1946 originally called “Pasta Gianduja”. This was a harder more block like version of what people have today. In 1951, a creamer version was made called “Supercrema”. Pierre’s son Michele decided to revamp “Supercrema” and mass produce it in Europe. That was when the name changed to Nutella. The first jar was made April 20th, 1964. There is even a World Nutella Day on February

Big Idea:

For the redesign of this package, it will be simplified and made to stand out. The jar will be changed to glass and will be a sleeker looking jar. The label will be be strictly typographic with a strong color scheme. It will be a minimalist approach to the design.Another way of redesign this product is to bring it back to it’s original retro design that was made by Pierre Ferrero when it was called “Supercrema”. This retro design will be revamped to fit the modern Nutella but it will still be a homage to it’s original design.

Redesign Plan

Fonts:Bodoni BoldITC Avant Garde Std Bold

The body copy is going to be Futura Medium. The headlines are going to be Bodoni Bold. The font for the nutella is ITC Avant Garde Std Bold. The computer I will be mostly working off of does not have this font avaliable for my use. since Futura is bold and is a geometric sans-serif it will be a good trade off.

The size for Bodoni Bold as a heading is going to be around 20-30pt. The body copy for Futura is going to be around 11-12pt.

LogoThe typographic logo for Nutella is a mordern and sleek with it’s san-serif font ITC Avant Std Bolf. There is no need to change it with the look and eel that it already gives. Plus many people are familiar with it’s logo and it will be easity recongizable on shelves. If I had to replace i would go with Futura medium bold. The size is 702x300.
