BSc (Hons) Nursing Course Details

The course is 50% Theory & 50% Practice

Holidays and reading weeks are pre-set for the course.

School holiday dates will not correspond with the University calendar. The University does not have half-term holidays.

There will be annual leave during Christmas/New Year , Easter/Spring and 3 weeks during the Summer between July and September

There are some limited child care facilities available.

• Some applicants for pre-reg nursing programmes will have prior learning and experience

• This may include applicants who are already on the Nursing Midwifery Council professional register who are seeking a second registration in a different field of practice

• Some applicants have a nursing qualification from another country but are not registered in the United Kingdom

• Each application is considered on an individual basis

• Tuition Fees for NHS Funded Courses are paid by Health Education Kent, Surrey & Sussex (HEKSS)

• £1000.00 Grant every year

• Means tested bursary –each applicant’s personal circumstances are considered

• We also provide a wide range of continuing education opportunities for qualified practitioners to extend and develop specialist and advanced practice skills at top-up degree or masters level.

• Our close links with local healthcare trusts allow our nursing, midwifery and paramedic practice students to gain experience of practice on placements in clinical and non-clinical healthcare locations across Sussex.
