1. AIR WE BREATHE
Experiments:
The children were shown different experiments to understand the following properties of ‘Air’ :
Air occupies space
Air helps in burning
Air has weight
Air is present everywhere
Air cannot be seen but only felt
Project:
To make the children aware of the importance and uses of ‘Air’, they were asked to stick pictures
of any 4 things in which ‘air’ can be filled and pictures of things that fly with the help of air.
2. ANIMALS AROUND US: To learn more about different ‘Animals’ , their food habits, habitat and
young ones, the children were shown different modules, pictures and videos. They were also asked to
stick pictures of any two of the following category of animals -Pet, Farm, Wild, Birds and Aquatic

SUBJECT : EVS
Group Activity : Slogan Writing on Causes of and Solutions for Air Pollution
The children made collages highlighting the ever-growing problems of Air Pollution and suggested the
solutions to curb them.

The children showed their athletic prowess to the best of their ability. Vindhya
House was the overall winner. The best athletes were :

Special assembly : “ The Sentinels of Our Borders”

The assembly brought forth the bravery and valour of the Indian
soldiers who sacrifice their lives for their country.

Celebration
69th Republic Day of India
Recitation of patriotic poems and speeches of freedom fighters en-
thused the children with patriotism and fervour. Our National flag
was hoisted by the Vice-Principal, Ms. Anu Norula.

Initiative: BVN has teamed up with e-waste parner ‘E-WASTE
RECYCLERS INDIA’ for a cleaner and better Earth. Our stu-
dents brought e-waste from home to dispose the same respon-
sibly in the bin placed at school.
Meeting the author: Students of Classes I-IV attended the launch of the Bilingual edition of the Jap-
anese title Mottainai Grandma . Author and illustrator Ms. Mariko Shinju along with the Hindi trans-
lator Mr. Prem Prakash read from the book and interacted with the children. The event was orga-
nized at the World Book Fair by NBT India.

At the ‘Junior Flash - 2018, a computer competition held at Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School,
our students won laurels. Ananya of Class 4A and Kshitiz of Class 4G bagged the second posi-
tion. Ujjwal Kesari of 5A and Saksham Juyal 5F were awarded the third position.
Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan ASMA organised an on the spot Drawing and painting competi-
tion on 21st January. Our students won laurels by winning the top prizes
