DESCRIPTION

NuRON (New Remote On-Line Network) creates virtual water distribution networks for monitoring and improved understanding of what is happening in a defined network zone. Until NuRON, this type of technology had not been possible at a street level. It allows operators to: - Detect leaks and pressure abnormalities in pipes - Simulate and model various water flow situations in real-time - Monitor water quality - Optimise network capability The device consists of waterproof hardware, which resides in a small underground pit. From within the pit, sensors tap directly into the water supply pipes. The data from the sensors is sent via the internet and displayed on a 'SCADAweb' interface, making screen views available anywhere you can access a computer and the internet. We think you will enjoy watching this short, corporate video on NuRON. Please click on our YouTube link. Data is monitored 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and the system will alarm if there are any irregularities. If there are number of devices in zone, it can also allow operators to accurately pinpoint both the location and nature of the problem. Benefits: - Zone pressure, temperature and flow detection - Low cost installation - Real time water quality and pressure detection - Low maintenance and cost effective solution for leak detection down to 5L / minute.

The Issue o Data collection for network model

calibrationo Critical/Large Customer (similar to

Hydroshare)- usage volumes and profiles- customers can self monitor usage

o Leakage Detection (Reduction in Non-Revenue Water)

- MNF Analysis, - overnight acoustic response

The SolutionIntegrated Monitoringo Flow, Pressure, Acoustic, Data Logger

Page 5: NuRON - Water Network Monitoring & Leak Detection

The Solution- Battery powered stations

(up to 5-10 year battery life)- Utilises mobile telephone networks - Data collection, storage and relay capabilities- Real time alarms- Multiple data inputs (flow, pressure,

temperature, water quality, pit lid status, etc.)

The Solution- Acoustic sensing (standalone monitors –

incorporated into system)- Automated reporting- Easily retrofitted to existing assets- Fully IP68 rated (can be fully submersed in

water)- Lockable pits- Web based user dashboard
