centrale. Per attivare il soffio vitale

un solo modo: stabilire il contatto, dal

puntapiede alle pedivelle. Da lì in poi si è una cosa sola. Anzi no,

impulso motorio? Cosa succederebbe se non pedalasse più nessuno?

Addio albe, tramonti, candidi inverni e canicole estive. Roba da

montare in sella e non pensarci più.

IN DISCESAPURE I COCOMERI VANNOFORTE

The Earth turns and Nu®ant is hot on

its heels. A hub between its teeth, like

a threaded metal cigarette. Its jaw is a

fork, its neck a handlebars, and under

the frame - close to its waist – there are

the bearings, magic spheres that allow a

central movement. There is only one way

to get the breath of life: creating a contact,

from the toe clips to the cranks. From that moment onwards the

cyclist and his bike become one stand-alone thing. Or maybe not,

since a cyclist is not a thing and above all he is never alone. While

the Nu®ant Bikeman is darting between cars and thoughts, always

ready for the unexpected turn, he sees the earth and its rules like

a big bicycle. And what if it was up to the cyclists and their push on

pedals to make it turn? What if nobody pedaled anymore? We would

say goodbye to dawns, sunsets, white winters and hot summers.

Scary enough to jump on our seats without a second thought.

RICCARDOGUASCO... mi ero deciso ad appuntare su un taccuino tutte le cose che mi avrebbero emozionato e le cose che già lo facevano, scrissi: “Il sole a colazione in terrazza, i paesaggi silenziosi, camminare senza meta, il vento forte, la neve di notte, i laghi di montagna, le anatre che migrano, un bicchiere di vino con un amico, gli eroi romantici, un assolo di tromba, il profumo di lavanda, ballare in salotto… e tutte quelle cose piccole o brevi e quelle persone talmente semplici e vere che solo con la sensibilità si può percepire il bello che si portano dentro.”i planned i want to write down on my notebook all the things that would move me and the things that moved me already, i wrote: “the breackfast sun on balcony, silent sightseeings, walking without destination, the strong wind, the snow by night, the mountain’s lake, migrating ducks, a glass of wine with a friend, romantic heroes, a trumpet solo, lavender fragrance, dancing in the livingroom... and all that small or short things and all that persons so simple and so true that only with your sensitivity you can feel the beauty they have inside.

STEFANOMISESTI

Since 2005 I have been spending several months every year in Taipei, in the North of Taiwan, where I work as illustrator and co-mic-strip writer. I am clo-se to Japan, South Korea, China and Hong Kong too and this allows me to be in contact with cultures I love and which are com-pletely different from my own. I think that this ‘im-mersion’ in the Asian cul-ture is extremely intere-sting because it gives me

the opportunity of seeing things from a different perspective. At the begin-ning it was hard to live in this new Country because of the different language, traditions and behavioural codes but I now got used to it and I am happy the-re. I have many Taiwanese friends that work as illu-strators and we often ex-change opinions and com-ments about our works, our art and sometime we work together on some projects. I even held some courses and workshops about illustration in Taipei and I think Taiwanese are very curious about Europe and Italy. I have been told that in the last few years my style, my stroke has changed. Maybe that con-tamination process betwe-en East and West is taking place in my drawings too. It doesn’t bother me at all.

La ricetta per un’ottimabistecca alla fiorentina:

Difficoltà: Bassa

Tempo di Cottura: 10 min

Ingredienti:1 bistecca da 600-800 gr.SalePepe

Recepeit for a greit fiorentina steak.

difficulty: low

time of cooking: 10 mins

ingredients: 1 600/800 gr steak,salt,black pepper

the cut of the meat must be a thick flank and has to contain the fillet bone and the loin. The bone must be shaped as the classical “T”. The steak should be 2 fingers height. To make a good steak we suggesto to use sweet coal that must be ardent but without the flame, when the barbecue will be ready you will put the meat on fire, really close to ardent coal, but without touching it.Cook the steak without pricking it with fork but moving and roll it with a barbecue spade. Let the meat cook five minutes every side.

Sinister form with rounded shaped head and squared chest. Flanell shirt, black jeans and ruined by walking shoes. Cold beer, junk food, and green olives lover. Come from the sunny Puglia, but hot makes him sweat. He collects mugs, markers and black notebooks. He never stops drawing. I forgot. he has really nice moustache.

French and not far from 30 years old. I have always been drawing, but I actually don’t make that as a regular living. I am a scientist, currently working in Lisbon since two years. So my daily work is filled with immune cells and viruses. And at night, I switch to some more personal and fictional interests. I am really passionate about knowledge and culture in general, I think that’s why I find it interesting to keep both activities in parallel, they must feed each other in some subconscious ways...

ALLAN DEAS

Allan is a London based illustrator, originally from Scotland who likes cooking (and eating) traveling to new places and taking photographs but most of all he likes to draw. Ever since he was a kid and skipped school to make a puppet show Allan has been creating characters and making stuff. He is influenced by many things especially the kids TV programmes of the 70’s & 80’s he remembers from growing up. His work is full of fun quirky characters and colourful scenes, sometimes bold & simple & sometimes intricate & full of clever details but almost always with a good sense of humour!

CD’SARTWORK

Lavora a Milano come illustratrice e graphic designer. Situazioni eterogene

Biró / She has devoted herself to drawing since she was a child, firmly convinced that it was her calling. Music made her change her mind temporarily. Today, signs and sounds are her lifeblood… and a thin thread of irony the alchemy between them. She works in Milan as an illustrator and graphic designer. Heterogeneous situations incite her collaboration and the only chair on which she manages to sit for at least three consecutive hours is the one at her desk.

She has worked in calcography as an artist and teacher. During this experience, she graduated in Graphic Design, then in Type Design. Now she’s working as an illustrator with calligraphy and handmade type. She studied for a long time traditions from the Far East and Ethnomusicology. So, in addition to wearing the smock of an illustrator and a designer, she cooperates as a performer with musicians and artists, working with signs and sounds.
