This form must accompany the B709 Individual /Business Non Dealer Application form and is used for obtaining policeconfirmation and certification for importation of certain prohibited weapons and articles into Australia.
Applications using this form should only be made if you are authorised to own or possess theprohibited weapon or article in NSW. The table in Section D of this form references whether a prohibited weapon permit is
required to possess the article in NSW.

C. REASON FOR IMPORTATION / FURTHER INFORMATION
Prohibited weapons and articles listed in Schedule 2 of the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulation 1956 may be seized byAustralian Customs unless the importer has a B709B police confirmation, or Ministerial permission, allowing them to possessthe weapon or article.
NOTE:The onus is on the importer to properly and accurately identify the item they wish to import. If you are unsure whether aB709B is required for the item you wish to import, you can obtain information from Australian Border Force.You may wish to refer to their website: www.border.gov.au
