Inauguration of Department of Pharmacy Practice run by Chalapathi
Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Out-Patient Block, GGH,
Guntur. Chief Guest: Dr.D.Phanibhushan, Superintendent, GGH,
Guntur.
NSS Activities:
NSS student volunteers of Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the presence of
CIPS-NSS Co-coordinator, Prof. K.N.Rajinikanth carried out “Clean and Green Programme” in the
medicinal garden of Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences. New medicinal plants were
added to rich amount of plants which are already present.
On the eve of International Womens Day, singing competition, musical chairs and Pharma Quiz
were conducted to the women pharmacists. Around 200 students and NSS volunteers actively
participated in the event.
Industrial Tour:
To provide insight about pharmaceutical industries 40 students of IV/IV B.Pharmacy and
Sri. P.V.Suresh and Miss. K.Lakhsmi visited Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceutical Limited (KAPL),
Bangalore, Mysore and Ooty for 8 days.

benefit of Pharm D students and medical fraternity during the event.

PhD Awarded:
Prof. A.Narendra Babu, Head of the Department - Pharmacology,
Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences was awarded
Doctorate of Philosophy,(Ph.D), during 31st Convocation of Acharya
Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Nagar. Professor A.Narendra Babu,
has carried out his doctoral research under the guidance of Prof.
Nadendla Ramarao, Principal, Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical
Sciences.

Training Programme/Industry Institute Partnership:
A special intensive workshop on handling and trouble shooting of HPLC, UV-Visible
Spectrophotometer, FT-IR was imparted to the students of this institute and to the students of
various colleges in collaboration with “Institute of Biological Sciences” Vijayawada. Sri. P.V.Suresh,
Sri.V.Venkatesh and A.Elphine Prabahar, were the resource persons.
Merit scholarship:
In order to encourage and develop sportive spirit among the students in academics, the college
announced a scholarship amount of Rs 1,00,000/- to the students who evince merit in academics.
Each meritorious student received a cash prize of Rs.5000/- for their merit during annual day
celebrations.
Collaborative Work:
M/s. Arsvil Research Laboratories, Vijayawada has sanctioned Rs 1, 50,000/- for carrying out an
analytical project at Central Instrumentation Lab of our institute with Sri.P.V.Suresh, as the principle
investigator.

Elocution and Essay writing competitions were carried out for girl students on the eve of Womens
day celebrations. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners.
“Pharma blooms”- A state level inter-collegiate competitions were carried out at Chalapathi Institute
of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Mandava Srinivasa Rao, GGH, Guntur was the chief guest of the
valedictory function.
7th Annual Day Celebrations of CIPS was conducted on 30/03/2011. Prof. Y.R.Haragopal Reddy,
Hon. Vice-chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University was the chief guest. Prof.H.G.Shiva Kumar,
Principal, J.S.S Mysore, R.Jagadish Babu, CEO, Biophore Pharmaceuticals Limited and Dr.
K.Panduranga Rao,CEO of Spark Biotek were guest of honor.
