Warm up

5 minutes

CD - Greet the whole class and make a self- introduction. - Greet the teacher

- Say Hello/Hi to children and have them repeat. Shake hands with one child, say Hello/Hi, and ask the child to reply. Walk around the class and greet different children.- Say Hello/Hi and shake hands to reply the teacher.

Teachers presentation

15 minutes.Textbook, page 8, puppets, CD, chalkboard.*Activity 1: Listen and read.- Put the picture of Eddie on the board, say Hello, Im Eddie, have Ss repeat. Do it again two or three times. Then do the same with the picture of Beakie: Hi, Im Beakie. Repeat the progress to make sure that Ss remember the name Eddie and Beakie.1. - Look at the pictures and repeat after the teacher.

- Then point to teacher and say Hello, Im Phuong. (Teachers name). Repeat two or three times. Then have some Ss say their names. Hello, Im (Students name).- Listen to the teacher; some Ss try to say their names.

- Have the children open the books, page 6 and introduce Eddie, Beakie and USA.- Open the books, page 6.

Then have them move to the page 8, ask them to describe the pictures in L1.

+ What do you see in the picture?

+ Who is Eddie?

+ Who is Beakie?

+ What are they doing?- Describe the pictures and answer the teacher.

- Play CD and get students to repeat in chorus or in individual.- Listen to the CD and repeat.

- Take two puppets and have them say Hello/Hi then have students reply by saying Hello/Hi. - Continue with the self-introduction of two puppets Im Bobby and Im Boo, repeat two or three times and make sample Im Phuong (the teachers name), then have students follow.

- Get the puppets say Goodbye/Bye and have students practice with the word.- Students reply puppets greeting.

- Make a short conversation by two puppets Hi, Im Booby. - Hello, Im Boo. Goodbye. Bye and choose one student to make sample, again with other students - Make conversation with the puppets.

Students practice and production

15 minutes

*Activity 2: Make a friendship line. Talk to a friend.

- Divide the students into 4 or 5 lines, practice introducing themselves: Hello. Im-Practice in the line.

- Play game: Slap the board- Put some words (Hello, Hi, Bye, Goodbye, Eddie, Beakie) on the board.- Play the game.

- Divide the class into 2 teams, make sample and explain the rule to them.

- Call one member from each team and have them slap the board, the faster is the winner. Repeat with other Ss.

- Clap hands to congratulate the winners.

-Have the children open their workbooks, page 4. Guide them to do exercise.

- Guide Ss to make My Dictionary (need folder, colored pencils and scissor).-Open the Workbooks and listen to the teacher.
