NPU3 C Ethernet FunctionalityGraceful DegradationNative Ethernet traffic is distributed over the Packet Links in an RL-IME. If a Packet Link is removed or faulty, the traffic is taken over by the remaining Packet Links in the RL-IME. The traffic takeover is done through Graceful degradation. However, the total link capacity is decreased and traffic with low priority may be discarded to ensure that traffic with high priority is sent.NPU3 C Ethernet FunctionalityHead Of Line Blocking prevention (HOLB)HOLB prevention is supported to avoid situations where a congested Ethernet port blocks traffic to othernon congested ports.White ListsIndividual white lists can be created per port to specify which source MAC addresses MINI-LINK TN can accept on a port. Frames with a source MAC address not on the list will be discarded.

NPU3 C Ethernet FunctionalityStorm ProtectionFilters can be activated per port to prevent flooding of unwanted and hostile traffic. Individual filters are used for broadcast, multicast and destination lookup failure traffic. The filters are specified as frames per second. When the limit is reached, additional frames will be discarded until the frame rate is below the specified threshold.NPU3 C Ethernet FunctionalityNPU3 C is exactly the same as NPU3 B only 2 new features were added:Synchronous Ethernet Ethernet Switch Protection And both of them enables enhanced backplane capacity of up to 2 Gbps when an ETU2B or an MMU3 A is positioned in an APU slot in an AMM 2p B, AMM 6p C, orAMM 6p D.SummaryMMU3 A

MMU3 A has one fixed electrical LAN 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet interface and one SFP cage on the front. The fixed Ethernet port can be configuredas a site LAN port. The SFP cage can be equipped with Ericsson approvedSFP modulesMMU3 AMMU3 A supports:

Ethernet Port Extension feature.extended buffers and traffic shaping for LAN ports.control of the ratio between Native Ethernet and PDH traffic sent over Hybrid Radio Links.MMU3 AMMU3 A together with NPU3 B/C enables enhanced backplane capacity of up to 2 Gbps when positioned in an APU slot in an AMM 2p B, AMM 6p C, or AMM 6p D.

Enhanced Radio Link Bonding (EnRLB).automatically activated power save function, DC bypassMMU3 AEnhanced Radio Link Bonding (EnRLB) enables more efficient use of radioresources in a hop configured for hybrid traffic, that is, packet link and TDMtraffic. It is built on an RL-protected configuration where the physical link relieson one of the following: Frequency diversity (Working Standby)The two radio links are protected according to the working standby schemausing two different frequencies. Polarization diversity (XPIC)The two radio links are protected according to the working standby schemausing the same frequency but different polarizations (horizontal andvertical). This is achieved by configuring the two radio links in an XPIC pair.Enhanced Radio Link BondingAggregated PDH and Ethernet Capacity for MMU3 A
