Greyfriars can be hired on Mondays throughout the day for a two hour period at £750 inclusive of VAT.

This provides time for the arrival of guests, ceremony, drinks reception and photographs in the Hall or Garden. Should you require more than 2 hours for your ceremony, please speak to a member of the team.

The capacity of the Hall is for 45 seated guests. We believ e that the special atmosphere at Greyfriars will giv e you and your guests an unforgettable day.

You may be interested to know that proceeds raised from wedding ceremonies go towards our conservation work here at Greyfriars, and helps with the upkeep of its garden.

If music be the food of love...

Why not try out something different by having a string quartet or even a Tudor music group playing at your ceremony.

Over the past few years Greyfriars has hosted a number of musicians in different genres to make your wedding day special - just ask for any ideas.

Normally our two hours are enough to provide time to enjoy a drink in the garden with all your guests (drinks are not included in the price).

Although we do not provide a reception, we have had weddings where canopies and cake has been served.

Many of Worcester’s Florists have been asked to create displays for weddings at Greyfriars.

Here are a couple of examples of the types of flower arrangements that can be used to make the most of our beautiful surroundings.

The Hall does not have to be decorated with flowers. Many of our weddings happen in the run-up to Christmas when we already have the house decorated for the festive period.

The Greyfriars Private and Corporate Hire

RESTRICTIONS AND GUIDANCE NOTES

The aim of the National Trust is to preserve Greyfriars for future generations, the funds raised from private hire are used directly to support this purpose. We kindly ask that the Licensee and their guests conduct themselves in an appropriate manner and observe the restrictions and guidelines set out below;

Safety and Security

Smoking and vaping is not permitted within the House or Gardens.

The Trust cannot permit the use of candles anywhere inside the House or Gardens.

Should the fire alarms be activated all persons must vacate the building immediately via the desig-

nated exits and gather in the street to await further instructions from Property Staff.

Access is restricted to the Ground Floor only and principally the Hall.

Access to the House and Ground Floor rooms will be open to guests as agreed with the Licensee all other rooms shall remain closed during the hire period.

Where persons are found to be behaving in a way that risks damage to the property or its contents, the Trust reserves the right to exclude them from The Greyfriars.

All personal property brought to The Greyfriars is done so at the owner’s risk. The Trust accepts no liability for loss or damage.

For their safety, children must be supervised at all times.

Preservation of Gardens The scattering of confetti, rice and seeds is not permitted. Only flower petals may be thrown within

the gardens.

Planters, pots and garden furniture must not be moved.

Transport and Vehicles There is no parking at the property. Local car parking is available.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following Terms and Conditions apply to the Licensee with respect to the private or corporate hire of The Greyfriars.

General To have due care and consideration for the sensitive nature of the property and contents and comply

with the Property Restrictions and Guidance Notes issued by the Trust.

To provide evidence of a minimum £2,000,000 Public Liability cover at least 2 months prior to the hire date. This may be provided by an existing policy or through specific wedding or event insurance cover.

Booking and Cancellation A provisional booking will be held on payment of the agreed non-refundable deposit. Provisional book-

ings will be held no longer than 18 months prior to the hire date.

The Licence will be issued as Final Confirmation on 50% payment of the facility fee 6 months prior to the hire date. With the final balance payable 3 months prior, notified by invoice. When booking within 6 months of the hire date, the full facility fee will be due as Final Confirmation. Prior to the issue of the Licence The Greyfriars reserves the right to cancel a Provisional Booking.

The facility fee payable will be confirmed by the Trust on issue of the Licence and based on the current price list for the calendar year of the hire date. All prices quoted prior to the issue of the Licence re-main provisional and liable to change.

Following the issue of the Licence the subsequent cancellation fees apply to the client;

Up to 90 days prior to the hire date 50% Up to 30 days prior 75% Less than 30 days prior 100%

Hire Period and Access The hire period and access is stated on the Licence. Amendments to the hire period and access must be

agreed in advance of the hire date by the Trust. Any amendments will be subject to the appropriate fee as specified within the current price list.

All guests are required to vacate the property at the end of the hire period.

Access for setting up and deliveries must be agreed in advance by the Trust. Access will not be permitted outside the hours 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Third Party Suppliers

The supply of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be made by the licensee.

Written confirmation from the Trust is required for the supply of Live Entertainment, Amplified Music and Lighting Effects and is subject to the provision of Public Liability Insurance Cover to a minimum of £2,000,000.

All other suppliers that attend the property, for example, florists and photographers, must be notified to the Trust one month in advance of the hire date.

The responsibility for the safety of equipment brought onto the property remains with the Supplier and the Licensee at all times. The Supplier and the Licensee must therefore ensure all equipment is safely erected and that all operations and electrical appliances comply with current Health and Safety Regu-lations.

The Trust reserves the right to refuse permission for the supply of services where the above Third Party Supplier conditions have not been met.
