If you’re serious about your coffee, try a cup at one of these three new coffee shops: Verve Coffee Roasters Verve Coffee Roasters on Melrose Ave. is the newest café to join West Hollywood’s burgeoning coffee scene. Verve, known for its sustainably sourced, single-origin coffee beans and exquisite roasts, was founded in Santa Cruz but has quickly become a favorite of coffee connoisseurs worldwide. Since its soft opening last week, this gorgeous coffee bar has already become a favorite in the West Hollywood Design District, not only for its coffee and pastries but also for its impeccably designed space, which features copper counters, tables and detailing; chic industrial touches and bright, natural light. The Assembly The charming Assembly Café on Robertson Blvd. is the ne plus ultra of minimalist Modern coffee shops. Serving Counter Culture coffee, August Uncommon tea and pastries from West Hollywood chef Suzanne Goin’s Larder Baking Company, the Assembly is the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon. The white walls and floor are accented with a beautiful counter and details made from a variety of light-colored woods, governed by a clean, linear design aesthetic. The space is saved from severity by its handcrafted Japanese ceramic ware and its small selection of handmade art and paper craft, which give it a touch of friendly approachability.

Alfred {In the Alley} With its tongue-in-cheek name and bold interior design elements, this tiny Alfred Coffee location on the West Hollywood Design District’s east side offers a whimsical take on the neighborhood coffee shop. Located in the midst of a number of popular gyms and fitness studios, the small space serves a constant stream of West Hollywood’s fittest, who lounge with their juices and cold brews in the lovely, shady patio that stretches the alley. For those less concerned with their figures, Alfred also serves rich pastries from artisanal Brentwood bakery Farmshop, including a trio of indulgently rich egg and muffin sandwiches.
