Novena Prayer to Our Lady Undoer of Knots Beginning Wednesday, September 28 th Dearest Holy Mother, Most Holy Mary, you undo the knots that suffocate your children. Extend your merciful hands to me. I entrust to You today this knot [mention your request here] and all the negative consequences that it provokes in my life. Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me. Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life. You know very well how desperate I am, my pain, and how I am bound by these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the lives of his children, I entrust into your hands the ribbon of my life. No one, not even the evil one himself, can take it away from your precious care. In your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Novena Prayer to Our Lady Undoer of Knots Beginning Wednesday, September 28th

Dearest Holy Mother, Most Holy Mary, you undo the knots that suffocate your children.

Extend your merciful hands to me. I entrust to You today this knot [mention your request here]

and all the negative consequences that it provokes in my life.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because

they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life.

Powerful Mother, by your grace and intercessory power

with Your Son and My Liberator, Jesus, take into your hands today this knot.

Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for me.

Evangelizing is not always what you may think. When you think of “evangelizing,” do you imagine going door to door, handing out religious leaflets to strangers, or standing on a street corner talking about Jesus? That’s not the kind of evangelizing most of us are called to do.

But it’s likely you have many chances to share with a loved one your personal experiences of God’s love in your life. If you’re presented with an opening in a conversation, the way you listen and the things you say may help a family member or friend to rediscover their faith.

The Diocese of Lansing is hosting a conference on October 21-22

nd to help parishioners inspire others with

the joy of their faith and learn to invite others back to the Church. The name of the conference is Called By Name – because we’re all called by name to have a personal rela-tionship with Jesus, and because God calls you in a spe-cial way to help him reach out to your spouse.

The Called By Name Conference will: Help you speak with a loved one about faith without “turning them off.” Help you share your experience of God’s love in a way that reflects your personality. Encour-age you to live your faith in a way that inspires others and learn to invite them back to the Church.

Announcements

On Wednesday, September 28th we will begin to pray as a

parish a Novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots. She is our patroness of this Year of Mercy. We invite everyone to join us. The Novena will end on Friday, October 7

th the Feast of

Our Lady of the Rosary.

We all have some “knots” in our lives… and Mary can untie them! The devotion to Mary, Undoer of Knots has become more popular ever since Pope Francis encouraged the de-votion in Argentina, and then spoke about it during his first year as pontiff.

The theology of the devotion actually goes back to the 2nd

century. Saint Irenaeus of lyons wrote that: “The knot of Eve’s disobedience was untied by the obedience of Mary; what the virgin Eve bound by her unbelief, the Virgin Mary loosened by her faith.” So we will pray that the Blessed Virgin Mary will intercede for us all, to untie the knots of sin in our lives – so that we may be purified and ever closer to God.

God Bless, Fr. Dennis

October 7

th Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary

Join us for 8:15 am. Mass this coming First Friday Which also is the Feast of the Holy Rosary

Known for several centuries by the alternate title of “Our Lady of Victory,” the feast day takes place in hon-

or of a 16th century naval victory which secured Eu-rope against Turkish invasion. Pope St. Pius V attribut-ed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin

Mary, who was invoked on the day of the battle through a campaign to pray the Rosary throughout

Europe. Our present national and world stage is filled with simi-lar dangers today. Violence and terrorism and the per-secution of Christians and open hostility to the Gospel reigns in our secularized world. Selfishness is the new

morality. Please join us in prayer.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

33 Days to Morning Glory

On the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, October 7, we will have consecration at the 8:15 am Mass

Legacy of Faith Future of Hope We’re happy to announce that our ETF Campaign has raised 131 pledges totaling $138,441, with $82,285 paid. Thanks to all who have donated and we invite everyone else to prayerfully consider a gift to our campaign so we can provide religious education to all our adults and young people.

MHT School – Connecting Faith to Life

Important Upcoming Dates: Tuesday, Sept. 27 Mass @ 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 Picture Day Friday, Oct. 7 Mass @ 8:15 a.m./First Friday

Volunteers Needed: MHT School is looking to set up two study sessions a week for students who need a little extra help completing homework. We are looking for adults 18 years or older who are interested in helping out with this program. The study sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05 until 4:00 p.m. Interested adults will need to complete the Protecting God’s Children Session (see information below) if they have not already done so. For more information or to sign up to help, contact the school office at 593-2616.

Protecting God’s Children Session: A Protecting God’s Children Session will be offered here at Most Holy Trinity School on Tuesday, October 4, at 6:00 p.m. in the school computer lab. The session will last at least 2 hours or longer so please plan accordingly. This educational session is required by adults (18 years of age or older) in order to volunteer to work with children at the school, including recess duty, chaperoning or driving for field trips, working in the classroom, and lunch helpers. You can register online at virtus.org or by calling the school office.

Picture Day: This year school pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 28.

SCRIP: Don’t forget to take advantage of the school’s SCRIP program to purchase gift cards for various retailers such as Exxon Mobile, restaurants, including Subway, Meijer, and other retail stores. The gift cards are valued at the exact amount of purchase. The retailers give the school a percentage which is split between the tuition account of your choice and our technology fund. More information can be found online at www.mhtparish.com under the school tab or by contacting the school office. This is a valuable program that has really kept our technology program at the school current in an ever-evolving technological world.

Cultivate Humility: The best way to fight this self-centeredness, of course, is by cultivating the virtue of humility, which is the opposite of self-centeredness. Humility helps us keep our ego in check by recognizing our faults, shortcomings, and our constant need for the mercy and love of God. Humility reminds us that there is a God and it’s not us. – from Beyond Me, My Selfie & I.

St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body: Richard Budd, the Director of Marriage and Family Life Ministry at the Dio-cese of Lansing is hosting a “short-course” on St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. As John Paul pointed out in his time, much of the confusion we have in the world re-garding marriage, relationships, and sexuality stem from a misunderstanding of who the human person is as created by God. This course will try to address this confusion using the Theology of the Body tool that John Paul left us. We will be showing the classes via webinar (live-stream from the Downtown Lansing office) on Tuesday evenings at St. Mary Parish Hall, Westphalia beginning September 27th and run-ning until October 25th. The classes will go from 7:00pm until 8:30pm.

Adult Retreat: The next Adult Retreat is October 7-9 at Bethany House in DeWitt! The retreat starts at 7pm Friday night and goes until Noon on Sunday. Deepen your rela-tionship with Christ as you learn how to walk with the Lord as his disciple and learn how to disciple others. Whether this is your first retreat, or you have been on many, this will be a great weekend for you! You can register by going to our website and clicking on the retreat flyer or by calling the parish office.

RCIA: Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Haven't practiced your faith but would like to come back to the Church? Or would you like to learn more about the faith? Please contact Paul Fahey at (989) 593-3174 or via email at [email protected]. We would love to help you grow in your faith!

Youth Holy Hour: The next youth Holy Hour will be Mon-day, October 10th after the 7pm Mass. After adoration in the youth center, Mary Schomisch will be presenting on "Finding God's Will: Where Do I Go After High School?" Bring your questions about college and everyday discern-ment.
