What is a Mobile Camera?

• A mobile camera is one that has been designed and tested to meet industry standards for shock, vibration, temperature, & electrical immunity for in-vehicle use, such as on trains, buses, police/fire/EMT vehicles, etc.

• Mobile cameras should have an M12, circular, locking 4-pin Ethernet connector. This connector is better designed for flexing, does not have a clip to break off, and locks in place for a secure connection.

• Mobile cameras often have unique features, such as ultra-wide angle lenses, built-in outdoor-rated microphone, image stabilizing, & video analytics.

M12 devices only have 4 pins, thus they can NOT use traditional PoE injection, also knows as Mode B.The PoE switch must send power over the data pairs, known as Mode A.
