UPCOMING EVENTS! Back-to-School LTG Club Visit Tour! Touring the division this fall has been fun, but it is almost up. With only four schools left

(Guyer, Lamar, Martin, and Ryan) I can’t believe all of the amazing people I’ve already met. I can’t wait to see everyone again on the New Years’ Club Visit Tour! **If you haven’t had a club visit yet, please schedule one with me ASAP.**

Key Club Week: November 7th-11th. Please check out the handout that was mailed to all clubs for the specific themed days. For more information, you can always visit KeyClub.org.!

November is Premature Birth Awareness Month so jump into helping March of Dimes for the Major Emphasis project. DECEMBER PCM/SOCIAL at Polar Ice in Grapevine Mills Mall on Saturday, December 3rd, PCM at 6:30pm followed by an ice

skating social! I expect EVERY SCHOOL to attend. December 16th- DCON Forum Application is due to Colten Meisner, Convention Liasion

At the Kiwanis Zone Conference, Key Club LTGs from Region 7 met the Kiwanis Governor for the Texas-Oklahoma District.

Division 39 North,

Can you believe that we are already HALF WAY through the 2011-2012 Key Club year? I’ve already served half of my term as LTG and I’m already having to look for who is going to replace me for 2012-2013 . With the end in sight, I have begun to work harder on all that I want to accomplish before my term is up and I KNOW WE CAN DO IT. A few of my goals are to have all of our clubs attend the December PCM/Social on December 3rd at 6:30pm, for each school to have at least 2 representatives at DCON 2012 in April, and to elect a new LTG at the DEC[Divisional Election Conference] on January 21st. In the first half of my term I have seen enormous improvements in my clubs and I am so proud of all my twelve clubs! In the last month, Denton has re-elected officers and turned in their first ever Monthly Report(we nearly have 2/3rds of all our clubs turning in reports every month), Denton and Carroll have improved their membership numbers by more than 4 times from last year, Krum hosted a Sadie Hawkins Dance and Liberty hosted a bake sale booth at a football game as fundraisers, and Sam Houston has raised some serious awareness of Breast Cancer Awareness within their school! We’ve started strong and now we have the ability to grow much, much stronger over the next 6 months if we can keep it up.

Don’t ever forget that I am proud of everything that you guys have accomplished thus far and I am always willing to support you in any way I can; all you have to do it ask.

Keep on Keepin’ On,

Mighty Fine DIVISION 39N

Clubs in Division 39N: Arlington HS, Carroll Senior HS,

Colleyville Heritage HS, Denton HS, Grapevine HS, Guyer HS, Krum HS, Lamar HS, Liberty

Christian School, Martin HS, Ryan HS, Sam Houston HS

Colleyville Heritage High School Key Club, preparing for Key Club Week on November 7th-11th, made lots of posters on November 4th, as an element of Key Club Week, to show their Key Club pride.

Many clubs use Key Club Week as a means of a membership campaign. How will YOU use it?

The Governor’s Project is Operation Overwatch, and in order to receive a patch, you must do two projects relating to supporting the soldiers and/or their families. Have you done two yet? Ideas: care packages, writing letters at a meeting, greeting the troops. Think of something creative!

Need a place to send letters to the troops? Send them to:

A Million Thanks 17853 Santiago Blvd. #107-355 Villa Park, CA 92861

Officers of Sam Houston High School were recognized at the Officer

Installation Ceremony in October and received framed certificates

and nametags!

I am so proud of all my clubs! This year they have come so far in only 6 months and we still have 6 months left to become the best we can be. Do you read all the parts of my newsletter? If so, send me an e-mail with your favorite song and you’ll get a special prize when you come to the PCM in December!

Out of time to wait for the UNICEF boxes to arrive in the mail, Carroll HS Key Club resourcefully used glass bottles to go Trick-Or-Treating for UNICEF!

SECRETARIES REMINDERS

Congratulations to Rachel Sardina, the new Denton HS Secretary for filling out her FIRST REPORT EVER and submitting it ON-TIME!

E-mail reports to: - [email protected]

- [email protected] - Your sponsoring Kiwanis club president.

Mail Reports to the District Secretary:

Ryan Nava 14819 Chetland Place Dr. Houston, TX 77095

***POSTMARK ENVELOPES BY THE 5TH OF THE MONTH. The November report is due by December 5th.***

PLEASE don’t include glitter in your envelope to Ryan Nava…it is extremely messy(and it makes him look like Ke$ha)

If you send the Monthly Report in a larger envelope, remember that that envelope needs MORE stamps or else it won’t get there.

Task O’ the Month: Make a turkey out of ANYTHING and include pictures. Decorate your envelope for extra points! Reminders about calculation and such for the new point system:

o Service Hour: total man hours/# of members X 50 o Points for money: (money spent + money raised)/#of members X 5 o Interclubs need proof if there are more than three clubs present! o If you spend/raise $500 INCLUDE PROOF o If you have a meeting with 100% attendance, INCLUDE PROOF o If you have over 100 total man hours at an event, INCLUDE PROOF o If you are unsure if you need proof, INCLUDE PROOF; it can’t hurt. o FACEBOOK POSTS (regarding your Key Club) count as bulletins; send them to

Ryan in an e-mail to save paper. o Include your agendas from your meetings.

You CAN do reports from past months and turn them late; you’ll still receive points (only minus a few since it’s late.).

I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS. 4
