AUSTRALIAN SINGLES REPORT
James Arthur remains resolute at #1 for another week with Say You Won’t Let Go reinforced by #1’s on the Hot 100 and iTunes charts. Meanwhile, The Weeknd’s Starboy ft. Daft Punk is poised to take the top from #2. Its current position at the top of the Spotify chart, while holding #4 on both the Hot 100 and iTunes charts, makes it a strong contender. Just outside the Top 10 on the Artist Top 20 is Nevada’s The Mack. It’s gained traction with airplay and sales, though its streaming figures have yet to back it up fully, it’s currently at #26 on the Spotify chart.
Funk-pop sensations DNCE hit commercial radio with Body Moves, their grooviest effort to date. The group fronted by Joe Jonas broke out in 2015 with Cake By The Ocean, which currently has just under 450 million streams on Spotify.
Niall Horan’s debut single and undisputed hit This Town earns a Tiesto remix this week. Meanwhile Machine Gun Kelly makes his way to Australian commercial radio with Bad Things, his rap ballad collaboration with Camila Cabello.
Go to www.themusicnetwork.com/charts to view all last week’s Most Added and Singles To Radio.
As predicted by TMN in last week’s Singles To Radio, Guy Sebastian won over commercial radio with his new heavy-hitting single Set In Stone, which was penned after witnessing a tragic event whilst at a songwriting camp in Bali. Meanwhile, Robbie Williams’ Love My Life proved to be a strong choice for second single in the lead up to The Heavy Entertainment Show, his new album which came out on Friday. The follow-up to Party Like A Russian is our #2 Most Added.
#3 Most Added chart-holder Jonas Blue has now confirmed another hit under his belt, with Take My Breath Away ft. Raye. He now has a 100% strike rate with commercial radio following his breakout success with his rendition of Fast Car.

Commercial radio proved to be very receptive to Neikid’s Sexual last week. The debut single from the (so far anonymous) Swedish collective was the most played song on the Nova Network. It also jumped to #7 from #20 on the TMN Hot 100, while being the fifth most moved track on the Hot 100 Heatseekers chart.
Galantis’ Love On Me sits at #7 on the Hot 100 Breakers chart following its Nova Network Nights addition last week. Should it start receiving extra spins this week or even more additions, then it will likely break into the lower 50 of the Hot 100 this week.

Coinciding with the aforementioned love that radio is showing for Neiked’s Sexual, the track moved to #1 on the Shazam Movers chart. Peking Duk’s Stranger saw continued success on its second week at radio, illustrated by their #2 position on the Movers chart, which suggests that there is still plenty of room for them to gain airplay. Drake’s latest single Fake Love started to make waves on the Shazam Future Hits chart last week following its service to radio. Though very few have jumped on the track thus far, it’s certainly gaining attention. Elsewhere, Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello’s Bad Things made it into the Top 10 at #9 and will likely climb higher now that the track is officially out to radio. Over on the Spotify Viral Chart, MC Zhang’s take on Piko-Taro’s Pen Pineapple Apple Pen dropped to #2 last week, while the original maintained a place in the Top 10 at #9. Both are likely to drop as the video becomes less current.
The Pandora Predictions Chart remained largely stagnant except for one outlier. Calum Scott broke into the Top 10 at #6 on his seventh week in the chart. His cover of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own has been doing the rounds online and in radio, with a Tiesto remix propelling the track to ridiculous heights. The remix alone sits at 10 million streams on Spotify and currently sits at #4 on the TMN Artist Top 20. It’s worth nothing that all this success is taking place on the back of a debut single.

Co-written with and featuring Sony/ATV Australia songwriting wunderkind Jon Hume and electro-house production duo East & Young from Holland, Galantis’ new track Make Me Feel premiered in the Netflix produced EDM based drama XOXO back in August.
With its euphoric and rousing instrumental builds and affirming lyrical call to action, it’s ripe for the picking as agencies continue their hunt for the perfect brand soundtrack for the Aussie summer. The song follows Galantis’ previous track Peanut Butter Jelly, which enjoyed heavy radio rotation and exposure in Australia and around the world.
Despite being released in August, Make Me Feel has already clocked up close to 7 million streams on Spotify.

In 2014, Sheppard proved pop anthems change lives. The Brisbane band’s global smash Geronimo is now one of the highest-selling songs of the decade, certified Platinum or Gold in over 30 countries. Now, on the cleverly crafted and utterly addictive We Belong - the first taste of an upcoming sophomore LP - Sheppard again tick all the boxes. A killer pop chorus, the now distinctive male/female vocal interplay, and slinky textural colour care of long-time local collaborator and producer Stuart Stuart, We Belong has all the makings to eclipse the band’s million-selling trademark hit.

Sia’s continuous dominance of the AIR charts with The Greatest translated over to the Hot 100 Australian chart last week. The track now sits firmly at #1 ahead of Illy’s Catch 22 and Peking Duk’s recent Stranger at #2 and #3 respectively. Peking Duk held their #1 on the Hot 100 Alternative chart for a second consecutive week. The dance hit debuted at #1 last week after a long drought between releases. Say My Name, their last release, came out in July of 2015. triple j’s love for Stranger didn’t wane either. The track sat at #1 on the youth broadcaster’s Hit List and was the most played track last week. Sia’s previously mentioned dominance of the AIR charts is most prevalent on the AIR Singles chart. She held the top with The Greatest, followed by Cheap Thrills at #3, Confetti at #5, Chandelier at #6 and Alive at #7. The Laurels clocked up a third week in a row at #1 on the Amrap Metro chart following their #1 debut with Sonicology. Meanwhile, Benny Walker’s Save took over Dan Sultan’s Magnetic on the Amrap Regional chart.
