We, in Grade 4, have had a very exciting and a productive first quarter. One of the most memorable moments we would cherish for a long time would most definitely be, getting the chance to be the first ones to move into the new building! We could hardly contain our excitement as Dr. Sortland and Mr. Fuller toured us through the new block, and were awestruck when we were shown our new classroom! Academically, we have toiled hard and tried our best in every area. In math, we have been reinforcing our skills on numbers and operations, and we are now able to read and write numbers up to millions. Language arts has been about reading different genres of texts like realistic fiction, biography, play, informational text and tall tales. Learning about idioms, hyperboles and building new vocabulary was very enriching. Special thanks to Mrs. Campestre who has helped us immensely in our narrative and descriptive writing, and also for teaching us how to write haiku poems. We also enjoyed publishing our own books, with our stories and illustrations, and reading them to the K5's! In science, we learned about the different classifications of animals and refined our knowledge on plants. Our class sessions in social studies explored the physical features of the world, and helped us learn closely about latitudinal and longitudinal lines.

It's been a great journey so far, and we are awaiting learning newer and challenging topics, not to mention the special moments of fun and laughter we are sure to have along the way!
