Barnes & Noble Book Fair – Friday, Dec 8th Don't miss the annual Barnes & Noble Book Fair next Friday, December 8th at the Barnes & Noble in Encinitas. The festivities start at 10 am and include teacher visits and readings, recommended books per grade, arts & crafts and a gift-wrapping station. It's a great way to get your holiday shopping done AND help our school! The day will also include a dine-out lunch at the nearby Chili’s. Both events benefit and give back to PLC. Please make sure you save/download (or print) the attached B&N voucher and Chili’s flyer to show the cashiers and servers when you check out and order We hope to see you there - but if you can't join us, you can still help raise money for our school. Every online purchase made between Friday, December 8 and Sunday, December 17 that uses our special Bookfair ID: 12266946 will also generate funds for PLC. Project Week – January 8-12 Each student will choose one project to work on during the last week of Fall Semester. They will choose from a math, science, social studies, or community service project or they can propose their own project. Each project will have an English/Language Arts component. No other assignments will be given during Project Week, which is a home school week. Visit the website for more information. Rafikis are bracelets handmade in Kenya, and are currently selling for $12, and support a good cause. The We Are Rafiki campaign helps Kenyan Artisans earn a living and raise funds for community-led development projects. Money from each purchase will go to giving people in the village clean water; just $50 can give an average family water for life! Rafikis are bracelets handmade in Kenya, and are currently selling for $12, and support a good cause. The We Are Rafiki campaign helps Kenyan Artisans earn a living and raise funds for community-led development projects. Money from each purchase will go to giving people in the village clean water; just $50 can give an average family water for life!
