ACCESSING THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
/ Many First Nation workers have experience with the Band
Council;
/ Their experience can be recognized by the CCQ towards apprenticeship hours (qualification examination)
/ CCQ offers a personalized support
CONTEXT
/ Demonstrate that they have practiced a trade or a speciality;
/ The experience and training acquired are at least equal to
the number of hours of apprenticeship for trade.
/ Some exceptions! Not every tasks can be recognize as construction experience: / Occupations (e.g.: labourer), as land surveyor, blaster-driler,
lineworker, diver, welder, high pressure welder) / Snow removal / Forestry machineries as – delimber, feller buncher, harvester,
skidder, etc.

Carpenter-joiner: “Carpenter-joiner” means any person who does wood carpentry work, joinery work, work involving the assembly, erection and repair of wood or metal items such as: • (a) concrete forms including forms for footings, walls, piers, columns, beams, slabs, stairs, roads, sidewalks and curbs at ground level and form ties; • (b) insect screens, door and window frames, doors, windows, sills, weatherstripping, curtain walls, and clapboard, aluminium or composition siding; • (c) metal partitions;

∕ The proof below must accompany each employer’s presented to CCQ
– Pay stubs naming the company and the work period corresponding to the employment period(s) indicated in the letter(s)
– T4 or Relevé 1 employment record for tax purposes (if tha tax slips where lost you can contact your employer or :

STEP 2 : PROOFS TO VALIDATE EACH EMPLOYER’S
STEP 3 : IF APPLICABLE, PROOF OF ACQUIRED TRAINING IN A TRADE
∕ All hours declared to the CCQ in the monthly reports are taken into account to determine your experience in the trade(s) covered in your application
∕ Training credits may be accorded if a training is relevant to a trade
∕ Send the original copy of the transcript from the ministère de l’Éducation, de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MEESR)
– All pages of the transcript with the graduate mention must be send
– The transcript will be send back to the owner
∕ The experience of workers can also be recognized via the Recognition of Acquired Competencies Program (RAC) – The FNAESC could help you with that program.
∕ For those who pursued vocational training in Ontario, they can contact the School Board and do a RAC process of their vocational training. If their training is equivalent to the Quebec vocational training, they can receive a transcript delivered by the MEESR
