New House Fresh Start
Welcome to Sewickley! Your adventure is well underway. Youve found that perfect place to settle in with
your family. A house is just that four walls and a roof. Now its time to turn a house into your home withyour unique style. You may be overwhelmed with all there is to accomplish.
Catherine Montague, International Interior Designer and owner of Green Design Innovationoffers these tips toturn your house into a warm and inviting home. Imagine how your lives will flow throughout your new home
and identify the various functions of the rooms. If you entertain how will that socialization occur with your
homes layout? Where will children do their homework or bring friends?
When a rooms function is defined look at furniture layout perhaps the furniture you had in this room in the
previous home does not fit the new layout. But, it can be repurposed to another area of your new home. Using
your pieces of furniture or accessories in a different room is a way to give it new life and jazz things up. This
is also the opportune time to pull a color palate out and add some flair to your rooms. Perhaps a kitchen orbathroom needs updated to your style. Its the personal touches and preferences that are integrated throughout
the home that take those four walls and a roof and turn it into a warm, elegant and inviting home.
