NEW YEAR’s DANCE QUIZ NIGHT DANCE PHOTOS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Dear Members LEST WE FORGET
November – a month to remember! The month is dedicated in so many ways to those who have gone before us – in our own families, our commu-nity, our country and our world. We remember our loved ones – parents, grandpar-ents, uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers, children, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, friends – so many people loved and remembered for the impact and contribution they have made in our lives. We will have an opportunity at the Novem-
ber lunch to pay tribute to these very special people and to those who have given their lives to ensure that we have the freedom to live happy, peaceful lives. Those attending the lunch will be invited to write names of all their loved ones which will be placed in a box of remembrance and a balloon in their memory will be released.
Yes even our beloved pets. Their unconditional love and companion-ship through good and bad surpasses many a relationship and remem-bering and honouring them brings great comfort to many of us who have experienced the joy of owning a pet. Hope to see many of you at lunch on Sunday 13 November – same time, same place!
We have lost many loved members in the past year and in years gone by. Their commitment and dedication to the vision of the Association will always be cherished and we hope to try our best to continue their passion of keeping alive our unique culture and tradition.
The Flower Power dance held on Saturday the 15th of October was very enjoyable. A step back in time when children of the revolution believed in peace and love and a hope for a better future not forgetting the fash-ion that spoke volumes of what they were trying to achieve in the world---the long hair – freedom to express – flowers in your hair – love and peace – big chunky medallions signifying peace - I don’t really know what flared pants stood for!
Thank you to the functions committee for once again organising a fun night and to the band Passion works and Elvic for the great music. Thank you to all who attended and being great sports by dressing up so we could all have a great laugh. Peace brother!
We sincerely hope that our membership will give us great support at our coming events that will complete the 2011’s calendar of events – the Quiz night on November 26 to raise vital funds for the Children’s Christ-mas Party – our Christmas lunch – Children’s Christmas Party and New Year’s Eve dance. Please check this Newsletter for more information.
If you have interesting stories to share with us, please do not hesitate to place your articles in the Suggestion Box or send it to the Association’s Post Office box. We will include them in our monthly Newsletters. Till we meet again, take care!
