november 2, 2014 all souls day - tri-parish community...mass schedule last week’s collection...
TRANSCRIPT
PRAYING FOR THE DEAD
November 2, 2014 is All Souls Day, a day
set aside for us to engage in one of our
most noble duties as Christians,
intercessory prayer, specifically for the dead. Contrary to
what I noted in the bulletin last weekend, such emphasis
is being placed upon this commemoration that the diocese
has instructed us to celebrate even anticipatory Masses on
Saturday, November 1, as Masses for All Souls Day,
November 2.
You may also recall from last week’s bulletin that this
first week of November presents an opportunity for a
plenary indulgence, applicable only to the dead, for
visiting a cemetery. To assist you in attaining this
indulgence, the latter part of this week I will bless the
parish cemeteries in our company according to the
following schedule.
St. Joseph’s, Clarissa: 7 PM, Thursday, November 6
Christ the King, Browerville: 7 PM, Friday, November 7
St. Joseph’s, Bertha: 6:30 PM, Saturday, November 8
I make no promises about the weather during these times.
Also, note well, the time in Bertha is before Mass and
Confessions because the November 8 Mass is at 8 PM to
accommodate the deer hunters (contrary to rumor, we
will not use orange vestments).
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Matthew Crane
