The People vs. Columbus, et al.
Students will be the defendants. It is the students responsibility:
to defend themselves against the charges.
to explain who they think is guilty and why.
Teacher will be the prosecutor.

The People vs. Columbus, et al.
Groups will prepare a defense against the charges contained in the indictments.
Before the trial begins the teacher will choose students who will be sworn to neutrality. These people will be the jury.
Prosecutor will begin arguing the guilt of a particular group.
Those in the group accused by the prosecutor will defend themselves and will state who they believe is guilty.
This process will continue until all the groups have been accused and have defended themselves.
The jury will them decide guilt or innocence.
