CONFERENCE DESCRIPTIONThis conference will provide an overview ofadvances in the use of proteomic markers in cardiovascular risk stratification in asymptomaticindividuals. The conference will include information on emerging markers, current approaches to cardiovascular risk stratification, biomarker development and assay validation, regulatory issues, and perspectives from industry.
CONFERENCE LEARNINGOBJECTIVESUpon completion of the conference, participantsshould be able to:n Describe how atherosclerosis biology is
relevant to developing new biomarkers ofcardiovascular risk
n Provide an update on how markers ofinflammation, thrombogenicity, and other etiologicpathways may improve risk prediction
n Discuss use of multiplex biomarker panels and statistical approaches to interpret results ofmultiplex testing
n Provide an update on the latest platforms for multimarker testing
n Explain the transitioning of a new biomarker toward a clinically useful test and discussperspectives from industry and regulatory bodies
