Most of you are probably aware of the Our Daily Bread booklets found at each of the exit doors,
and you probably know that these little booklets are filled with daily devotionals to help start each day with a powerful,
positive reminder of God’s Word. But did you know that Our Daily Bread is also available as an app for your mobile device, as a daily email, in
e-Book format and as a podcast? Or that you can also connect with Our Daily Bread on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram? There are so
many ways this little book can help you grow in your relationship with Jesus. Be sure to grab a copy today!
Oh come, let us sing to the
LORD; let us make a joyful
noise to the rock of our
salvation!
Let us come into his presence
with thanksgiving; let us
make a joyful noise to him
with songs of praise!
Psalm 95:1-2
From Your Pastor
In Psalm 118:1 the Psalmist tells us “Oh give thanks to the
Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!” Next week we will celebrate Thanksgiving. This is a great day
to celebrate the freedoms that we enjoy and to thank the Lord for His goodness and His love.
Today I am thinking of a few things that I am thankful for:
-I am thankful that I can call God “my Father” through Jesus
-I am thankful that I can serve Him with my life -I am thankful for my family -I am thankful that I have an awesome church family
-I am thankful that Deer Park is a generous church -Through our Acts 1:8 mission fund we helped buy a
house in Romania and we have helped a church build a house for their pastor in the upstate to better accom-modate his wife’s disability.
-As of Sunday evening the church has packed and delivered 171 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
-On Saturday, we will give 36 Thanksgiving food bas-kets to people in our community.
These are just a few of the many things that I am thankful for.
My prayer is that you will recognize what God has done for you, in you and through you, and that you will be able to
express thanks to Him not just on Thanksgiving but every day.
I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday morning in Sunday School at 9:45 and worship at 11:00.
I Love Being Your Pastor!

Prisoner Packets
The November Go-Getter meeting was a fun evening with enter-
taining dancers and patriotic singing. Please note that the next meting is scheduled for January 10, 2017 at 6:30 in the Fellow-
ship Hall — there will be no December meeting.
There is only a little over 2 weeks until the December 3rd day-trip to Asheville for a holiday luncheon at Grove Park Inn and to Flat Rock to see “A Celtic Christmas.” Everyone on the roster is asked
to be at the Fellowship Hall by 6:00 a.m. and to refrain from wearing perfumes. The group will be traveling by motor coach,
and several have indicated that they are allergic to perfumes.
There are still 3 cabins available for the Royal Caribbean’s “Allure of the Seas” cruise planned for April 30-May 7, 2017. If interest-
ed, please contact Fran Bath (843-572-1862) or Judy Rush (843-553-1844).
For anyone interested in putting together a Prisoner Packet,
please pack according to the following guidelines and return to the Missions Corner by Sunday, November 27th.
In a 1-gallon size zipper bag with zipper closed securely, include:
1 BLACK non-retractable pen (no wire clips and no other color)
1 writing tablet no larger than 5 1/2" x 8" (no wire bound tab-lets or composition books)
5 First class #10 stamp embossed envelopes (purchased at
any US Post Office)
2 rolls of candy (Lifesavers, Mentos, Breath Savers type)
1 4oz-6oz bar of soap (no travel size)
1 5.8oz or larger toothpaste (no travel size)
1 adult toothbrush (individually factory sealed, no multi-packs)
For questions, please contact Myra Huckabee at (843)259-0320. Music Notes
Food Pantry Blessings
The Deer Park Food Pantry has been very blessed lately and the
Pantry volunteers would like to thank everyone for their monetary donations that are making it possible for us to give out 36
Thanksgiving Baskets this year! The Food Pantry volunteers would also like to give a special thanks to the Royal Ambassadors from Highland Park Baptist Church — they had a food drive during
the month of October and donated 150 pounds of dry goods to our Pantry. Their donation will help feed a total of 8 families in
need of food.
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him
who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” Luke 3:11
Sunday, November
20th, Deer Park will have a special mission-
ary speaker addressing the congregation. Mick and Dalese Stockwell
have served with the IMB for 22 years in
Eastern Europe. Mick and his family went to Ukraine in 1994 as
church planting and leadership training consultants. Mick and Dalese currently live in Prague, Czech Republic. He is on the
leadership team for the European Affinity and leads affinity-wide training, connecting strategies, mobilization, student work, and partnerships.
The final shoebox count has been
tallied, and we are excited to re-port that 171 shoebox gifts have
been returned and delivered to the local drop-off site! It has been fun watching the stack of shoeboxes
on the sanctuary steps grow and grow each week! Thank you to
everyone — including the families of our very own Child Development Center (CDC) — who so thought-
fully shopped for, packed and prayed over the shoeboxes and the children who will receive them. Your gifts will definitely
make a difference!
Plans are already underway to begin next year’s OCC shoebox collection. Why so early, you ask?? If you read about the 25-
member church in Texas at www.samaritanspurse.org, you will learn why — with God’s blessings and provisions, this mighty little church went from donating 15 shoebox gifts three
years ago to donating 5,173 shoebox gifts this year! So if a church that tiny can do it, we know with God’s help, we can
increase our numbers, too!
If you would like to be a part of the Deer Park “OCC Team” and help set next year’s shoe box goal, organize the year-long collection drive, and plan the big “packing party” for next fall,
please call Diane in the church office — she and Cathy Myzell would love your feedback and assistance!
I hope you were as blessed as I was when our children sang
and "signed" during our recent worship services. When the Half Notes sang "God Loves Us All," I wanted to shout "YEAH"
right along with them! And the PraiseKidz! were so precious when they signed "Thy Will Be Done." These presentations reminded me of 1Thess. 5:16-18 where it says, "Rejoice al-
ways, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
I'm so thankful for the wonderful people who give of their time
and talents to worship God in song and lead others to worship on Sunday mornings.
In His service,
Dean
