SCT EC Interconnects On-Cylinder Interconnect
» Inlet– Swagelock @ PPF1 - x72 3 or 6mm versions
CERN Supply
– PPF1 – HEX – x72, 9 different types recent change of 2mm ID to 3mm ID 5mm OD 9 models / drawings required (includes filter), ~1 week
– Filter - x72 Paul having tested @ CERN
– Hex – x72 QMUoL
– STFT connections – x72 Paul having tested @ RAL
– Capillaries - x208 Nominal 2.5m long, to be tuned, CERN / QMUoL All Capillary stock @ CERN, even with extra required for D7 & D8 LMT cooling
– Connections at PPF0 – x208 230 Confirmed to be delivered to RAL 10th November, then around 15th November to CERN

SCT EC Interconnects» Exhaust
– PPF0 connection – x72 ‘Quick’ samples being manufactured Already tested see later
– Tube – x72, 9 different types All tube (for all interconnects) ‘in-stock’ Bent tubes manufactured by Newtown Engineering for Pre-Production prototype of D1 interconnect
– Elbows (interconnect only) & reducers – x72 & x144 ‘Quick samples on order (12th November) QMUoL make all Elbows?
– STFT connections - x72 Paul having tested @ RAL
– HEX– Heater Assembly – x72, 9 versions
CERN supply with ‘pressed-on’ copper / CuNi end for soldering to HEX
– Swagelock @ PPF1 – x72 CERN Supply

SCT EC Interconnects
On-Cylinder Interconnect…» LMT Cooling
– 2 spare ways from D9 with back-up of 1 spare way from D7 & D8– Drawings complete & out for quote (12th November)– Tube acquired from redundant Barrel stock– Long lengths split into smaller sections around bends (more joints vs.
ease of manufacture)

SCT EC Interconnects PPF0 connectors
» Based on Helicoflex» Already tested (I.Wilmut)» Only hole for connection changes from original
design
STFT connectors» Tapered PEEK seal based on Pixel design» 9 inlet & 9 exhaust to be tested soon then full
production
PPF1 connectors» Standard Swagelock bulkhead» To be supplied by CERN as part of PPF1 fluid
installation

SCT EC Interconnects
Off Cylinder Interconnect» Hex Assembly
– HEX drawings being modified for recent inlet tube diameter change 2 types of HEX Higher level assembly shows connection of inlet & Heater to PPF1 About 1-2 weeks of work
– Exhaust Tube, HEX Tube, Inlet & Exhaust connectors, supplied by RAL (Filter to supply)
– Inlet Tube sourced by QMUoL + manufacture of elbow to connect to Heater
» Heater Assembly– CERN Supply to QMUoL
» Combined Assembly– HEX & Heater to be assembled @ QMUoL then sent to CERN (Large
batch?)
